Gargle with warm salt water. This is going to sound gross, but use a hand mirror and look far into the back of your mouth by your tonsils. If you see any whitish, chalky looking stuff. Try to use a q-tip to swab it out. I'm not sure what the stuff is, but I get some on my tonsils every now and then, they get sore, but as soon as I get rid of it I feel better. If you have a fever, nasal discharge, and soreness way down in your throat, go see a doctor and see about having a throat culture done to check for Strep.

Gargle with hot/very warm salt water. Stir about 3 teaspoons of salt in a cup of hot water, get it as far back in your throat as you can, tilting you head up. Repeat this till empty (3-4 times) It is nasty, and will make you spit quite a while in the sink, but it really does help!

tell that to the doctor. Take water (not cold, not too hot, because it wil irritate it more). Food too. Not too hot, not too cold.
Try not to cough much, try to breath trough nose and try to talk the less as possible.
That will help.

Your throat hurts? Are you sick? Or hoarse from talking and smoking all night at your favorite disco?
Do you have lemon and honey? Drink that.
Or - You could try gargling with warm (body temperature) salty (like the taste of ocean water) water. Not too hot and not too salty.

Make yourself some hot tea (flavor of your choice as long as it's hot) and add lemon drops and honey to sweeten it. Sip on it slowly. It should soothe your sore throat.
Good luck, feel better :)

Gargle with warm salty water.
It makes your throat feel better for a while, and it actually kills some of the germs as well. Don't make the water too hot!

Drink some hot bouillon, as hot as you can stand it. Lift your chin when you swallow, and let it bathe the sore parts of your throat. And most importantly, stay warm and avoid drafts! Hope you feel better soon, Sweetie!

Sounds like you may have Strep throat.....
NOT DEEP THROAT!!!!!!
Ok this is from a infection caused by a small round bacteria.
Strep throat is a bacterial infection of the tissues in the back of the throat and the tonsils. The tissues become irritated and inflamed, causing a sudden, severe sore throat.
In general, sore throats are most often caused by a viral infection and not strep bacteria. Strep throat does not occur with coldlike symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, or a runny or stuffy nose. The more coldlike symptoms you have, the less likely it is that your sore throat is a strep infection.
What causes strep throat?
Strep throat is caused by streptococcal (strep) bacteria. There are many different strains of strep bacteria, some of which cause more serious illness than others. The type of strep that most commonly infects the throat is called group A beta-hemolytic streptococcus (GABS). Other types that can sometimes infect the throat are groups C and G strep bacteria.
What are the symptoms?
The most common symptoms of strep throat are a sudden, severe sore throat; pain or difficulty swallowing; fever over 101° (38.3°); swollen tonsils and lymph nodes; and white or yellow spots on the back of a bright red throat. Strep infection may also cause a headache and abdominal pain. Less commonly, strep throat can cause a red skin rash, vomiting, loss of appetite, and a general feeling of discomfort or illness.
The incubation period—the period from when you are first exposed to the bacteria until you develop symptoms—is 2 to 5 days.
You are considered contagious (able to spread the infection to others) while you still have symptoms; you are usually no longer contagious within 24 to 48 hours after starting antibiotics. However, if you do not seek treatment for strep throat, you may continue to be contagious for 2 to 3 weeks even if your symptoms go away.
How is strep throat diagnosed?
Strep throat is diagnosed with a physical examination, medical history, and a rapid strep test. A throat culture is sometimes done to confirm the results of the rapid strep test.
How is it treated?
Strep throat will go away in 3 to 7 days with or without treatment. However, strep throat is still treated with antibiotics even if they do not speed recovery. Antibiotics kill the strep bacteria, shorten the time you are contagious, and reduce the risk of complications, such as the infection spreading to other parts of your body. Antibiotics are effective in relieving symptoms of strep throat only if they are given within 48 to 72 hours after symptoms begin. 1
Your health professional also may also recommend nonprescription medications to relieve pain and discomfort and reduce fever caused by strep throat.
Hope you feel better soon....

Eat lots of ice cream, honey and lemon also works. Put a couple of table spoons of honey and a tablespoon of lemon juice in a cup, stick em in the microwave for about 20 secs then drink (watch you don't burn yourself though!)

take a warm shower and let the steam go into your nose this will help your throat because the reason your throat hurts is because your nose is draining into your throat and if you have lemons squirt some lemon juice into your throat this is a temporary fix
