lock her in your basement leaving her nothing but a tv/vcr and a whole bunch of Tae Bo tapes. Then when it comes time to feed her, give her weight watchers or LA Weight Loss food :)

Buy for her a roll of "duck tape" and tape her mouth!! The only wait to control obesity is to control the intake of foods with high calories!!

you have to convince her to start exercising! ASAP! or you could convince her to go to the doctor. try to tell her that if you will stop doing one thing that you absolutely love (like tv or computer), she has to stop eat junk food.

How much does she weight.... I really doubt she will die at 19. She would have to be 600Lbs over weight to die right now.... She just needs some diet and exercise help. But she won't die until she is in her 40s if she keeps up the same old eating habits...

seriously...unless she is like 500 lbs, i don't think you have anything to worry about just yet....dont freak out...jsut talk to her...find out why she is eating so much and then fix the problem.....it might take you a good while but you should be able to resolve the real issue of why she eats so much...now, is she diabetic? if thats the case, then she needs to cut down fast because that can seiriously cut down her lifespan...

Some of the answers you've received on this question really suck. Yes, she could die at such a young age if she doesn't get help. I'm no expert on weight loss but you can look in your phone book and on-line and find councilors who handle this sort of thing. Talk to one yourself and ask them what you should do to convince your friend to seek help. Like alcoholics and drug addicts you can't really help them if they don't want to be helped. I think the trick is to get your friend to realize that she needs help. Call a councilor. There are a lot of non-profit counciling centers around the country. There may be one in your town and if she qualifies as disabled because of her weight there would be financial help available for that counciling and other stuff...again, I'm no expert but I know that help is out there. You can also call the nearest hospital or public health clinic to get phone numbers for counciling centers. Good luck to you and your friend. Bless you for caring.
I hope you don't take the advice of some of these people in here.

are you being serious or sarcastic? Does she truely have a medical problem? If so, then just suggest to her that she needs to get help... maybe call a hotline or something. Just tell her that you care about her and do not want to see her gone and wish for her to get help... that you will be there for her.

If she dies it'll probably be from a heart attack, not from the obesity itself.
Ask her if she would go with you to an Overeater's Anonymous meeting. It's a 12 step program like AA and it's helped a lot of people lose weight.

if she truly is going to die then you should make her last weeks the best weeks of her life. but i really doubt that you have a friend named alexis that is dying of obesity, which is just my opinion.
