Im constantly feeling tired any ideas?
I have been to the doctors twice and they have both said im just exausted but i dont do that much, i sleap enough, dont work but im a student and travel 45mins each way a day. im always tired no matter what i do and i cant metabolise caffine so there is no way of feeling less tired, i have been like it for as long as i can remember and its getting me down. it makes my eyes itch and gives me head aches and it means i cant concentrate very well at uni (which is something i find hard anyway as i have dyslexia) does anyone have any ideas on what i can do that doesnt involve caffine, thanks.
Additional Details
its not thyroide, at least the dr said it wasnt, i had a test and it was at the high end of normal so i had to have a nother one 2 months later and it was fine, so i dont know what that was about.

Dearest, I truly feel for you, but it is your eating habits and not enough plain water.

Start with whole fruit in the morning, then add a grain or protein to that... don't say I don't feel hungry in the morning so that's why I don't eat breakfast... Your body is sending you that message out of bad habits.

Just do it.

It may be a symptom of something else e.g. depression. Go back to the doctor's again to discuss.

you may have mono some people have it and don't even realize it it makes you really tired and its highly contagious. I cant really think of anything else that it could be specially if you have been tested for everything else that came to mind while reading your question. Ask your Dr to just test you for Mono its better to know then not.....

You have to try to spend more time in the open breathing fresh air especially in green and natural places doing activities like like walking o moderate jogging in the park for instance. Even gardening is good if you don't like jogging or walking too much. This will make you sleep more soundly will oxygenate your system replenish your blood and consequently you will be less tired or not tired at all. Lack of fresh, air and pollution and a sedentary life are often the cause why people get tired. Also try to moderate the hours spent in front of screens like computers and television.

Tiredness is a symptom of loads of different health conditions, such as anaemia, Lupus (SLE), chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, Thyroid and doctors often just put it down to stress, lack sleep, depression etc without doing blood tests unless you persist in asking your doctor for more help with your exhaustion, so it is probably worth pushing things with your doctor to get basic blood tests done (basic FBC for anaemia, autoantibody screen for ANA etc) in order to rule out anything serious.
For general advise on coping with fatigue/ helping yourself try this web site http://www.emedicinehealth.com/fatigue/page7_em.htm
There is also a good Lupus web site with forums/message boards to chat to others who are not yet diagnosed but who probably have Lupus/something similar which you may find usefull http://www.thelupussite.com/forum/

fresh air, balanced diet, 8 hours sleep a night and a steady routine

don't eat anything 3 hours before bed and eat within 30 minutes of getting up in the morning

not a quick fix but a sustainable solution....

good luck!

Are you eating foods containing lots of sugar? They will give you a buzz but then will make you feel tired, give you headaches and no energy. Eat food with wholegrain in like wholemeal bread, brown rice, wholemeal pasta which release energy slowly. Also drink lots of water get some fresh air and a break from studying. I'm not an expert so if this persists see your doctor again and don't leave until he gives you the correct help. Good luck.

In addition to what everyone has already said, depression can cause severe fatigue as well. Another option is something called chronic fatigue syndrom. Check it out.

Do you feel more energised after you've done some exercise? If yes, it's probably not M.E (or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as it is now known.) So you need to look really carefully at your diet. you need to cut out as much processed food/sugar as possible and eat loads of veggies and fruit. do exercise EVERY day. just 15/20 mins is enough. make sure you get 8 hours of sleep every night.
If when you do exercise you feel utterly drained, it could be CFS. Do you also get 'brain fog'? muscle pains/stiff joints? have enough sleep but wake feeling exhausted? If so, don't panic! I had it and now i am recovered. Go back to your doctor and demand to be taken seriously!!
If you are diagnosed wtih CFS, you will be signed off from uni, and probably given some anti-depressants. Make sure you don't go into 'sick person' mode though. try to do something every day, set realistic goals and listen to what your body is telling you.
It could also be and iron deficiency but i'm assuming your doctor is competent enough to have given you a blood test?

I'm veggie too. do you eat fish? i didn't before i got ill but i do now. might be a lack of essential oils.
