When I know I need to go to bed earlier, I usually take a couple Tylonal PM's. They always knock me right out :) Add a couple beers to that and you may sleep even better, haha. Good luck have a safe trip.

you'll prob be too anxious to fall asleep, its hard to get yourself to go to sleep early and i wouldnt recommend things like nyquil because you might have a hard time getting up. Just dont drink any caffine and get in bed early and try to fall asleep.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

drink some warm milk with a drop of honey/sugar and some Cinnamon on top...
also just lay back, turn on some nice music (not anything with a movement like beat) and prop your feet up..
Ive been told that you can power relax if you lay back with feet proped up and try to meditate even if you dont sleep.. 30min of this will equal 2 hours of sleeping for your body...

Go for a run, then get a glass of milk and read a book until you fall asleep.
Set an alarm clock or ask whoever you live with to wake you up.
The chances are if you think about it enough your body will probably wake itself up at the right time.
An alternative is to try sleeping as you travel, I would reccomend this no matter how much sleep you managed to get (unless you are driving)
If you live with people who go to sleep very late then you could also ask them to wake you before they go to sleep.
Good luck and have fun

could be difficult, sounds like you have a little anxiety about your trip and not being well rested. I would try a warm(not hot) bath and some relaxing exercises, such as imaging, soft music or read a book,, have the bedroom cool. happy sleeping

Eat a BIG turkey sandwich, followed by a glass of merlot. Turkey has Tryptophan in it, which is a natural sleep promoter. Just one glass of wine, as more can have the effect of waking you up too soon to pee. I would also take 2 or 3 Melatonin.

Don't eat anything before you sleep because while you're digesting the food, energy is released so you won't feel to sleepy.
Also have a nice long bath.

I usually take Benadryl and make sure not to have any caffiene after 5 or so. If you drink too much, you can wake up before you want to. Tylenol PM and those type of medicines usually have an antihistamine that causes the sleep, so Benadryl can be better since Tylenol can damage your kidneys and liver.

i know this may sound a bit obvious but actually go to bed early, dont watch TV when in bed cos this will only stimulate you, read a book or something. And turn the lights out at about 7! dont think about falling asleep that much while in bed or you wont do it.

"Simply Sleepy" by Tylenol works good. I had never ever taken anything to help me sleep but I used this when we went on vacation this year and I knew I would have trouble sleeping and it worked great. Didn't knock me out but I did get a good nights sleep and was well rested by morning.
