I am nervous that it will leak out, or the tampon will slip out.
Is this likely?
Please help me!

Its perfectly fine. In fact, this years gym class involves swimming, and the girls are so retarded, talking about how some girls are gonna swim on they period even if they have in a tampon and its gross, (which its NOT) and they are influencing other girls to not wear them because they dont want to seem "nasty". Truth is, tampons were made for a few puposes...thongs, and swimming. Might as well use it for what its made for. Just make sure you change it right before swimming, then every couple hours or after your done. I swam with one before and I was paranoid, but it was great! (Just make sure the string isn't hanging out the bikini bottoms!!!) |

Every girl thinks this will happen to them while swimming when they are new to tampons. The tampon will not leak or slip out. It works great, just as good as it does normally. There is absolutley no reason to stop life just cuz of your period, life must go on, and thanks to tampons, it can!!! ;) Dont worry about it though, for real, we have all had these thoughts and I had to just experiment with it, cuz I didnt have anyone to ask! :) |

Yes tampons work fine in water. I have been doing it for over 18 years now. I know it won't be exactly like being in a pool, but if you are wondering what will happen when a tampon gets wet (while you are wearing it), then how about the next time you are wearing one sitting in the bathtub?? It is just an idea to help you with your fears. You will be fine though and nothing embarrassing will happen, I promise. |

yes. tampons will work in water. if its your first time going in water you might want to wear a tampon thats a little bigger than your regular size just in case you forget to change it. however a tampon will protect you in water as long as you remember to change it every couple hours or so. they're a great invention!! ha |

tampax leaked on me before, but playtex hasn't EVER leaked. they're a little more expensive, but definitely worth it. I've never had it happen in the 7 years i've been using playtex/ |

They work in water. I promise. |

If inserted properly they will not fall out. You do however need to change it more often if you are in the water for long period of time. I would say use the playtex sport. |

I've worn a tampon and gone to the pool before. As long as you know how to put one in correctly, you'll be just fine. |

If you have the right absorbancy for your body then you should be fine if your still nervous then try one in the shower or bath and see if it is sucessful...works like a charm for me but everyones different its okay to test it |

Yep, but change em when you get out of the water, cos they soak up the water. Then it ends up dripping pool/sea water onto your undies. |

yup they work fine. PERFECT plus when you go under water the "leaking" practically stops anyways. but either way the tampon will work and it WONT slip out. |

Yes, they work extremely well in water. you should not be nervous about it at all. tampons stay in place where they are until they are pulled out, and water definately cant do that. if you think you will leak wear a bigger absorbency tampon, but only one size up. |

No, the idea of a tampon is to block all leak age. I use Tampax Compak Pearl and they work great. I am useto this because I teach swimming lessons alot during the week. |

Yes, this is probably the best and well for me the only time i use tampons. I guess i just don't like them and will only where them if i go swimming. Using a tampon in the pool is no different then if you where one out of the pool. |

for myself, they always work. put them in 20 minuets before going into the water. try them out in the bathtub or something. Just make sure you take it out and then wash of and rinse to avoid any type of infection, they work terrible if you don't put them In a little early. I have neither heard of or experienced a tampon slipping out. the ya re designed to be worn in water and worn during activity. i am sure people would complain if they didn't work!!! |

Well, if you go by that commercial that shows the lady keeping the Titanic from sinking using just a tampon, I'd say you're as safe as a coon in northern Mississippi. |

Hello. Once a tampon is in place, it will not 'slip' out. The tissues and muscles hold it in there. As far as leaking, I have been using them for 10 years, and have never had one leak on me. Ever. I have gone swimming with them, and nothing. So, I would not worry any about that. Go, have fun! |

They work. But if you don't feel confident, just don't go swimming. Problem solved! |
