Whats the best way to sooth a soar throat?
I don't feel sick or anything, no fever. My throat's just soar and I don't think it's strep either. I'm a singer and I really just want to get rid of this thing fast....

I get sore throats sometimes 3-4 times or better a year. It drives me nuts. Usually it's the onset of a cold, but I usually can fight it off. Try something warm (not hot) like tea with lemon or Peppermint. Sometimes I take some cold medicine at night (not the full cup) and get under the covers to sweat it out. The other thing is drinking water, I know you've heard this plenty of times, but don't drink it cold, maybe room temperature, due to the fact your throat is already irritated. Good luck I hope you feel better. |

gargle with warm salt water, drink hot tea w/ lemon and honey, suck on hard candies or lozenges. If it gets real sore take Tylenol and get cloraseptic(sp) throat spray. Sore throat can be the first sign of illness, so try some of those cold prevention meds (zicam, i think. its an OTC) |
