What is the ideal cure for a Mid Life Crisis?

...

ManBoobs
1. Buy a large BMW motorcycle and ride it to Singapore
2. Backpack around the world/to Australia/across the States
3. Sign up to do a marathon
4. Do some voluntary work for a charity in Africa

In short...do something to completely break out of your comfort zone, without being totally reckless and foolhardy (you want to retain financial security). 'Mid Life Crisis' is just a label. If you find yourself in a rut, as opposed to a groove, then it's time to change things radically, and rapidly.

Remember, life's what you make it. Good luck.

If there was a cure it would be on the front page of every tabloid and someone would be very rich. You just have to ride it out without hurting anyone along the way. It does pass. Accepting that you are getting older helps. Sounds obvious but not everyone can do it.

Therapy or sex. If you could get both and at the same time, You'll be just fine in no time. Good luck. :)

There isn't a cure. It's like being at sea in a small yacht when a storm strikes; you can't "cure" the storm, you just have to ride it out. But it will pass.

My brother-in-law thought that a red sports car, a black Harley Davidson, and an affair with his secretary were his cure, but all he got was his own apartment, and a big lawyer's bill. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!

I don't think there's a cure, I think it's a part of life that you just must deal with.

Ok, if you're married, definately do not kick your old lady to the curb in exchange for a younger chick. She put up with your sorry butt all these years and now that you're feeling sorry for yourself because you're getting older, you wanna trade her in for a younger model. I would recommend that you and your wife (assuming you have one) go on a cruise, or something fun, just the two of you, take a long vacation to a foreign country, go to vegas and renew your vows, go to a sex store and buy some toys. Try a new experience, take up cooking or whatever. I just wouldn't do anything drastic. Remember, if you're feeling down in the dumps over your age, imagine how she feels and perhaps the two of you together and get through it.

Now, if you're NOT married, then sure, go find you a lady friend, take her on a cruise, do something wild, try skydiving, go horseback riding, bungee jumping. Something you would have never thought you'd do in your life.

I agree that having a goal to reach is a great idea, for anyone who is experiencing 'the blues'.

Is there something you've always wanted to do but never quite got around to doing? Go for it!

Move to another country. I had a huge midlife crisis and realised that I was missing was a feeling of excitement in my life where everything was exciting and new like when you're younger. Everyday has been a new experience for the last two years for me.

A good swift kick in the backside by your beautiful wife/partner etc. No need for a mid life crisis. Live each day as it was your last day...not your last day of youth!

There is no such thing as a mid-life crisis. Adults don't have them, only babies who never grew up.
