Quitting smoking is a lot easier than quitting cancer. I saw that on a poster in a hospital.
Keep going, you've done so well to get this far! You can do it!

Think of how good you'll feel tomorrow when you look back and say Hey, I conquered that craving and kept my goal! Try going for a walk to get your mind off of it. Hang in there!

Good Luck first off..
I know how hard it is to quit. I quit about 3 months ago using Chantix. and it's worked for me. Not only do I not want a cig but I don't crave food either. I haven't been irritable or anything like that. I have to say that it was worth the money. The cost is 128$ for a month supply. I spent more than that in cigs as I smoked 3 packs a day. I didn't want to go to a doctor so I ask my dentist and they called in the order. I haven't been to a doctor in 27 years so I was happy that she could do it for me. Look into this it really has done wonders for me.

Do not have one - it will ruin all your hard work. On the 14th January you will no longer be addicted to Nicotine - it will all be in your head. The little receptors in your brain are like little demons who will try to trick you into having another cigarette, you need to starve them. The patches worked for me - I am now in my fourth month smoke free.
Good luck.
Edit - All the idiots on here saying they will smoke for you are only jealous because they are not strong enough to give up themselves.

think of all the positive things that will happen after you quit. think of how bad you will feel when you smoke that cig. Is it really worth it?
try staying busy with something like reading a book, taking a walk, watching a good movie, etc.

Don't you are getting over the worst now.. Why go all through that again.. No Nicotine in your body, blood pressure back to normal, Its all in your favour now... From now on there is no addiction its all custom and habit you are overcoming. Keep your hands busy, bang away on your keyboard... The pangs will get less in time,, I promise you. I have done it.. Now a year. Am a different person. Health ever so much better. Don't stink. Am much better off financially. Saving about £70 a week/ Bought this computer with the cigs money. Just stick with it, be a bit brave, So worth while. best thing you have done in your life, Good Luck

Love, anything that you can do that will employ your hands and make you concentrate will help.
And at the price ciggies are these days, your bank account will love you more if you don't smoke.
That's without even thinking about the health side of things!
Keep it up. There's bound to be some smart git who thinks you can't do it, so think how good it would be to prove them wrong!

Try Champix. I didn't find the Nicorette gum any good, but got Champix from my GP. Havn't started on it yet as this time of year is too stressful (for me) but will start it in Feb. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. I did stop for 1 year with Nicorette Inhaler, but gave in when told I had cervical cancer (it turned out to be a wrong diagnosis) .
I found eating oranges cured the craving for a while, also having something in my hand/mouth at bad times.
Hope you succeed. KEEP STRONG!!!!

It gets easier after 15 minutes - you can wait that long for sure.
almost 9 months clean here - and it's difficult -this is going to last forever.
Take a 2 minute wlk around the house. Inhale deeply, drink water or milk - whatever you don't smoke with.
Good luck.
Forget that money crap and cancer crap! That doesn't work or we'd all have quit years ago.
Get some straws or Celery and use them like a smoke.

Cravings are not constant - at the moment you are focusing on the craving rather than the spaces between each craving. These spaces get longer and longer with each day that passes. Just take some deep breaths and remind yourself that it is JUST a craving and it WILL pass. I went through this two years ago when I quit - it DOES get better. Hang in there and well done. :o)
