I've used this stuff before and it really works. Someone researched what vitamins and minerals are good for cold prevention and put them all into one cough drop. They leave a bad taste in my mouth but I have found that if I use them when my throat starts to get scratchy or I'm a little stuffed up that it goes away and I don't get a full-blown cold

you cant fight a virus with medication. You can however use nasal spray or those nasal swabs that help shorten the time span of a cold. They actually work really well.
You best bet is to stay healthy, avoid adding toxins to your body, and stay well hydrated and rested. take a multi-Vitamin.

It is better not to take ANY medication unless you are already sick and it has been prescribed. Prevention of illness is best treated by nutrients in your diet. If you seem to have symptoms of a cold, start taking vitamin C. If you are a smoker, you need to take more vitamin C than if you weren't. Vitamin C does not remain in your system, so take it 3 or more times a day. Your symptoms could be caused from allergies, and many people use honey that is made locally to prevent allergies.
Taking medications on a regular basis can build up intolerances to them in your system, so try natural methods for prevention. Good luck !

I heard that if you take more Vitamin C you can actually prevent sickness. You would take more than 1000 mg.

For a cold the best thing to take is vitamin C (preferably not the synthetic form: Ascorbic Acid, but a whole food source...ask a local health food store), Licorice (zaps viruses on contact and soothes inflammed throat; also an expectorant), and avoid dairy or wheat for at least a few days. This generally works great.

Zinc supplements and lots of vitamin C! Also, drink as much water as you can handle. You may still get sick, but it won't last nearly as long.
Hope you feel better!

Aspirin wouldn't help because it's an analgesic. It is designed to get rid of aches and pains. If you feel like you are getting sick, it probably is because your immune system is down. I personally don't take over the counter medication. I juice instead which i highly recommend but it's not for everyone. What i would suggest for you is to load up on your vitamin C, if you can get wheatgrass juice (Jamba Juice if you have one around can help, or Whole Foods) the wheatgrass definitely helps. So drink a lot of orange juice or Grapefruit Juice, get some rest, If you need to take over the counter medication i would suggest Dayquil or Nyquil, i prefer the Nyquil because it knocks me right out and by the morning i feel better. But i really only use and cold medicine if it is really really bad. Hope this helped, and hope you feel better.
