Just keep looking at them( how hard is that) but don't open them , put them in another room out of harms way. Or phone the friend who gave them to you and get them picked up and taken away now!!!!!!.

2nd, instead of buying ciggaretts, each time you would usally buy a ciggarett pack, save the money! And whe you have lots of money, spend it on a holiday or a theme park of some kind!

The five minute rule worked for me. When you crave just say you'll deal with it in five minutes, but as time goes on you have forgotten and so has the craving. The five minute rule works a treat.

Buy Allen Carr's book, 'Easyway to Stop Smoking' Read a chapter a day, and carry on smoking while you are reading it!
I went from 30 a day for forty years, to never even thinking about a cig, even when out with smokers! Fantastic book.

Leave the house, and do something constructive. It's a beautiful day out, why ruin it w/stinky smoky cigarettes?
Then get the patch or some nicoret gum.

Put them in a basic of water until they become real soggy and your problem will be solved. Just because your friend gave them to you doesn't mean you HAVE to smoke them. lol ยง

Then you can't have one. I used to smoke and would just toss them, break them, throw them in the fire. Anything just to make sure I couldn't go back and smoke one later.

Of course you are tempted Blloody good you haven't smoked in 5 days but with cigs to hand you are going to find it very hard. If you are really tempred and no cigs in the house you can't give in can you/... So dump the Malrboros or give them away .

First of all, congratulations. You are doing really well. Second, get the heck out of there!!!! You will be more tempted to have cigarettes when they are in your sight. If you go for a long walk, you wont be able to have them because you will be walking. Or go see a movie or somewhere where you are not allowed to smoke. If you associate a good habit everytime you are craving, soon enough you will want to do the good habit (walk, spend time with friends, eat veggies, etc) instead. Good luck and keep it up!

No don't have one. Believe me if you have one then you have to start quitting all over again. It's so hard I know. I quit in March of this year and in June I had one when I went to a pub and I threw up!!! I couldn't believe how gross it was. You should break all those nasty cigarettes in half. Seriously, I think it would be quite a liberating experience. Your health is worth it. I believe in you. Good Luck and take care ;)

First, THROW AWAY ALL YOUR CIGS!!!! If they're not in the house at all, then you'll have to go to the store in order to give in to your cravings, maybe the drive will be long enough to talk yourself out of it.

Next, get an Ick List. My aunt tried to quit for years and was finally successful by posting a list of 15 reasons that were important to her why she shouldn't smoke. She put it on her fringe, her coffee machine and on her bathroom mirror, since she wanted to smoke after eating, coffee and in the morning when she woke up.

Figure out exactly WHY you want to quit, then put it in the places you are/go when you have your worst cravings.

Hope this helps! Remember that cigarettes are a real addiction and it takes a strong person to overcome their addictions. Tell yourself that you ARE a strong person and that you have evolved beyond the instinctive compulsions that come from addictions. Don't quit your attempt to quit.

Number one - give or throw the bloomin' things away! Better yet, sell them to someone still addicted and use the money to buy something to distract you.
Number two - remember, you're an adult (I assume), totally in control and capable of making life choices. Should you ever decide to have one, well, you could.
But don't. Choose not to - for the next half an hour.
In half an hour, choose not to again.

I know exactly where you're coming from - it took me several attempts to give up. But you've done so well. In five days, all the Nicotine is out of your system. *Technically* you're no longer physically addicted. That's a huge achievement.
It's the emotional addiction you have to crack, now. And that's the worst thing to defeat. Keep distracting yourself with absolutely anything that gets your mind off the fags. Keep setting short targets & reward yourself for them.
Every day the cravings'll get that little bit shorter and easier to handle.
You're doing absolutely brilliantly. You're through the absolute worst. If you start again, you have to go all through all that phase again - and it's just not worth it!

Hey grumples. Great news, best in a long time, made my weekend.
I believe "cold turkey" the only way. You must throw that 200 pack away, now. Then if you want to light up again just think about it. There are more than 5,000 chemicals in cigarette smoke. More than 40 of those cigarette ingredients are known to be human carcinogens - that means they cause cancer - not just in animals but in humans too. In addition to tobacco, there are 599 ingredients which have been added to tobacco. Some of these chemicals are generally regarded as safe when used in food products (e.g sugars, vanilla extract, prune juice, vinegar etc) but all produce numerous additional chemical compounds when burned. The most deadliest is Nicotine. You should remind yourself, grumples, of some of the effects of smoking, long-lasting ill health such as cancer, oxygen deprivation, asthma, irritations (not just from some of the postings!), infections etc. Be healthy, you're too precious to be anything else. I'll try to make you smile now:

Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile.
