Could possibly be cellulite. It is not abnormal, but can be massaged out. I have had the similar thing. Armpits.. Who would have thought that it would settle in the armpit? Gently massage it out. Usually the cellulite will break apart and the lump will become smaller. IF you do massage it out, make sure that you make sweeping motions toward the head. This won’t do you any good if you massage it down.. so make sure you massage it UP.
If you are still worried about it, and the massaging doesn’t work, then go see a masseuse or doctor. They will most likely be able to figure out what is going on with you. Do you have this bump in both armpits? IF so, it is probably cellulite. If it is in one armpit, it is possible to be a tumor. It could very well be just your lymph nodes reacting bad, from what you said about it swelling. Any of the things I have stated might be what is wrong.
I hope that my answer was useful to you. Good luck with it! ( go get it checked out though. It could be more serious than you would think it to be, )

If it is in the skin and moves with the skin, it is probably a sebaceous cyst from the hairs. If it is deep, it may be a lymph node. If it is actually a 2cm node you best see a doctor.

There are alot of glands in your armpit. seeing as you said it is sore, thats probably what it is. None the less, you really do need to have it checked out by a Dr, as it is also a common place for cysts. If it is a cyst, it need to be taken care of immediately.

possibly an ingrowing hair, sweat glands swollen, a spot, or an infection. If it doesn't come to a head or go away by the end of next week go and see a doctor - they will be able to advise you much better. Most of all though is do not worry about it

I had a lump behind my ear for quite a while. I decided to go to the doctor to find out what it was (not that it was bothering me) and she felt me all over and said my glands were swollen and I should feel ill. I did not so it was a bit of mystery but when she felt my arm pits she said there were lots of glands in this area.
Any way she gave me something not sure what it was aa it was a few years ago, may have been anti-biotics and they all went down and life was resumed to normal again.
Its worth getting it checked out.

The bad news is that a lump of 2cm isn't small!
The good news is that if it feels sore, it is unlikely to be cancer.
The region of the arm pit contains the lymph nodes, which are the the guys that tend to move the cancer around the body - but it also contains lots of sweat glands (sorry to sound gross) and I suspect that you have a blocked pore that has caused a 'spot.'
I would advise you to see your doctor and have this checked out. Be prepared for a bit of a joke, though. I was really skinny at your age and I thought that I could feel a lump in my breast - after a check-up even the doctor laughed - the 'lump' was one of my ribs!
He laughed - but I would still have it checked out, despite the jokes!
And please don't say that you are not overly concerned yet! Cancer can take over in a matter of weeks - if not days - it can be really rapid - go and see your doctor - PLEASE.

Do you shave your armpits the reason i ask this is because you could possibly have an ingrown hair if that looks to be the problem try applying a warm compress to it and then pulling the hair out with a tweezers. if that is not the problem then you should go see a doctor since there are lymph nodes in the armpits

Ive also found a lump about that size under my arm pit. The GP keeps regular checks on it but told me it was benign (harmless). Yours probably is too but still worth seeing your doctor.
Good Luck!

I would get it checked. It could be anything from just a cyst or a blocked sweat gland. Yes, it could be more serious, but the chances of that are slim.
Just have the doctor look at it. Tell her/him if you have had any other symptoms lately like a cold, strep throat or the flu, because it could be just a swollen gland left over from that. The doctor will know.

yes I have had this and it turned out to be an abscess, it is very easily treated if necessary removed surgically if it persists as mine did, usually antibiotics will clear it but you must see your G.P. to get it confirmed and checked

It could be a spot or boil under the skin - these are common in the arm pit.
Does it feel like a usual large pimple? If so, you can wait a few days and keep an eye on it.
If you are concerned, or if it feels odd, just pop to the doctors - they see this all the time and you needn't be worried about wasting time.
