Try putting yogurt on it and some moisturiser on it before the skin will go flaky and you won't want that do you

Ooh, not nice.
Get some After-sun lotion. Most have moisturising and cooling Cocoa butter in them. Slap loads on regularly. It'll still hurt, but shouldn't be as bad.
Oh, and make sure you drink water regularly to help your skin recover. If you get dehydrated this isn't good for it at all.
As for the pain - depends how bad the burns are. If you are peeling badly then possibly longer. The redness and pain should feel better after about a week or even two.
After this, when your skin calms down get yourself some kids sunblock with at least a SPF 20 rating. (The kids stuff works better!) And slap loads of it on at least every half hour when youre in the sun. Put on enough so that your skin looks almost wet and don't rub it in much.
I used Johnsons kids suncream when I went to a music gig. Virtually 7 hours in full sun in temperatures above 32 Centigrade , constantly putting on the lotion - I did have a bit of heatstroke at the end, but not a burnt bit of skin in sight!!

Use vinegar and water. Trust me I know. I get burned riding in the car! Anyways, put about 1/2 jar of vinegar in the sink with about 2 cups of water and then soak wash clothes in the vinegar mixture and lay them on you where you are burned. Pulls the heat out.
P.S. you will smell like a pickle until you shower! :o)

Lemon juice will cure it. It will sting for a short while but it will do the trick. Put on lots of sunblock next time you go out in the sun you don't want to get skin cancer do you...!

Natural yoghurt - it really works. Dollop it onto affected area and leave til it cakes. It take the heat out and the soreness. It also seems to assist in the time it takes to die down as well. Make sure you use a good SPF suncream next time in the sun!

Try vinegar. Don't use anything fat based, like certain lotions have. And it depends on how bad your sunburn is, but shouldn't last any more than a few days.

Take a cold bath or shower, and stay inside if you can. Sometimes a sunburn will last a day and sometimes a week, it depends on your skin. But just think, you'll have a lovely tan afterwards!

Luke warm bath which will feel really itchy to start with, then lock the extra moisture into your skin with baby oil or skin cream (like cold cream).
Oh and buy some sun screen.

Mix some aloe vera gell, Lavender oil, and regular lotion together and rub it on the sunburn. Put it on 2-3 times daily, and it'll speed the healing up within a week or so. If you put it on early enought, it'll stop the pealing also.

Sun burn is the same as any other burn - you'll not stop it hurting as you have damaged the skin. You can help cool it down with cold water or sooth-It with the usual creams but all you can really do is wait for your skin to heal.
Also, make sure you drink plenty of water to replace the fluids you've lost.

this sounds really crazy but raw Onion is great for burns, or try damp towels draped over the burnt parts.

I usually put Noxema on my sunburns. It is a white & kind of gunky facial cleanser and it comes in a circular jar. It makes the pain go away. You can find it at any Wal-Mart or other store.

Try a product called Solarcaine...available in pharmacies. It will numb the pain and help the healing process. The sunburn should be gone within a week at the most...you might be peeling though. Aloe Vera moisturizes and helps although you may not "feel" much relief. Try putting the aloe vera in the fridge first, the cold will help numb it also.

Stay out of the sun for a few days, bathe only in lukewarm water, it'll pass. I burn every year and I love it!

You should NOT and i repeat Not use aloe vera on sunburn because it courses heat and it can blister. My advice to you is to use aftersun, baby oil as it put's the oil back into your skin, or you could ask your local chemist. But i will say PLEASE DO NOT USE BABY OIL BEFORE GOING OUT IN THE SUN. GOOD LUCK

Try a spray with Lidocaine in it, it only works for temporary relief, but when you're hurting even a few minutes of relief is welcome. I've also heard butter or a bath with oatmeal?

Vineagar and cool water. It doesn't smell the greatest but it will take the burn away. My mom always used it on us when we were little.
