Hi its to late for any sort off cream what everyone is mentioning,as soon as you feel the tingiling you should apply the cream, but this wont stop the cold sore at all i suffer with these alot and have tryed all sorts off creams also been to the Drs for medication all these dont get rid just calms it down,so the date with this man make a good excuse up and arrange for about 1 wk as this is how long it will take to calm down and go a bit,if not give him my phone number lol Good luck.

Keep applying the cream, do not pick at it! You can get a concealer stick, (green hides redness the best) and cover it with a little make-up. I think that some lip gloss on your lips will distract attention from it. I have never had a cold sore but I occasionally get a zit and that works for me. Remember now when you look in the mirror that is the first thing your eyes focus on, it is not that way with everyone else, are your friends looking at you and saying "what is that bump?" I doubt it. Have fun on your date,

lol..invitation taken.
You still have enough time to recover,no worry.Just keep the room temperature balanced so you don't go from sick to really ill.Eat a healthy balanced diet so you'd shine by thursday in your overall aura.Take the best care you can possibly give your body by spoling at a moderate measure.

this is an old, old folk remedy, so dont laugh. my great grandmother had a cure for everything. They worked so well that they have been handed down from generation to generation. To heal a cold sore you first have to dry it out, and to do that is to put your ear wax on it. I know gross but honest it works. your ear wax will draw out the drainage from the sore and dry it out. HONEST!

Sorry but you cannot do so much about it for lack of material time to heal. Anyway, just consider yourself lucky. At least you will know early how deep or shallow he is.

If you take a Lysine tablet available at a health food store, this can help with cold sores. It helps them heal in half the time. Good luck...

Only time will tell if Zovirax will work.It will probably dry it up but then it has to heal the scab.I'd play it safe and postpone the date.If he is worth it, he will understand.Be honest, tell him your are under the weather.Besides you want to be in tip top shape for that first kiss.

I don't know of any fast cures other then the ones already mentioned. This outbreak sounds like a stress response. If this person you are meeting for the first time is at all understanding, i'd postpone the date until you feel comfortable and allow time for the cold sore to heal naturally. The more you worry about it, the longer it will take to heal. If its meant to be, then its meant to be and cold sore or not, he'll ask you out again.

Do they not have something where you work that's strong enough to cure it? I ain't coming to your hospital. Hehe. Joking aside, you've got a few days for the Zovirax to work. If he likes you though, the cold sore shouldn't matter. Good luck all the same - hope it goes well for you.

zovirax is the best, keep applying it every few hours if you can, should be gone by Wed.
By the way he needs to learn to love you warts and all and a cold sore would not put me off, i would hardly notice it.
Ps !f he wont marry you i will if my wife will let me!!!

On my, cold sores are so damn delibating, aren't they? I mean so bad for going to work, normal socialising but an absolute sh*t for a first date! I have had them really bad in the past, made me feel like a leper I can tell you, but as I have aged, they are never as bad now.
My advice? Zovirax is great ( but vastly overpriced for a 2g tube! ) but I have found that the secret is to alternate the Zovirax with periods of keeping the sore dry. I have also tried alternating applications of hot and cold applications i.e. bathe the sore with hot water on a flannel ( as hot as you can stand ) and then apply ice cubes. Don't forget to wash the flannel thoroughly after! That treatment tends to calm the sore. I would then finish that with a wipe of Zovirax, let that get absorbed and then dry the lips, then finishing off with something to keep the lip dry such as a cosmetic to cover spots. I think it is this drying process that shrinks the sore into oblivion. Everything you do should be scrupously clean though and never share anything here! The drying treatment seems particularly beneficial before sleep. And if the sore cracks and bleeds, encourage the beelding at first and then stem the bleeding with lots of tissue, possibly a styptic pencil if necessary and then maintain dryness as above. Thursday is not far away but you may be able to reduce the sore to almost insignificant. But also, be honest with the guy, he's not going to want to drop you for a healing cold sore ... if he is any man, he will take that on board and if he likes you, he will look forward even more to another date when he can get at those lips .... kissing is definately out this week! But I would add that if this is a really aggressive cold sore, and they do happen, you will be mega miserable and it may simply be better to take a rain check on the date to one week forward or something ... I mean you would always reschedule a dental appointment if you had a cold sore, wouldn't you, because that is sensible for everyone. I really wish you luck on this one ... been there, got the T shirt and all that!

Nothing you can do. Just grin and bear it. This guy has been sick he knows the drill. People are understanding. By the second date it will be gone. Relax. enjoy yourself and have a good time and forget you even have that cold sore. Just be glad you don't have a fever, runny nose and diarrhea.

from a guys point of view.....I wouldn't care too much if I liked the girl.If she brought attention to it once in an embarrassed way I would know that she cared about her appearance. I would also think that because she's embarrassed about it then she must have deliberated as to whether she should turn up or not and I would be glad and flattered that she thought I was worth it!
Dont go on about it though cos I would think you were self obsessed and isn't it you gals that firmly believe that looks dont matter? If he's that bothered about it then you will know that you aint got no future with this one. hope that helps

the excitement and tummy churning have probably brought this on! Try vodka to dry out the cold sore eruptions but unless you catch them at the earliest sign of tingling Acyclovir or its derivatives are useless really.
Actually this is a wonderful way of putting off the kissing/etc till a bit later on. The best relationships evolve over time, chatting & finding out about each other before all the other stuff and the wait proves intoxicating...such passion when it does!
I'm quite sure that you will imagine you look much worse than you do and he won't worry a jot he's probably worried about stuff too!
Laugh about it and enjoy all the fun of your first date!
