gangadharan_nair	Choking- Asphyxia. Treat by artificial respiration. When babies and small children are choking, and even seem to be turning blue, they often have a peanut, marble or other small object lodged in their throats, clogging the airway. This can be taken out with a deft finger. If not, hold the child upside down and shake him gently in an effort to dislodge the object from the throat. Call for the doctor, ambulance, police, fire depatment or first aid squad immediately. In gas poisoning, see that the victim is promptly removed to fresh air indoors or outside. Indians fan 07	Choking effectively constricts the windpipe so that no air can get from the nose and mouth to the lungs and vice versa, so the victim of the choke can die from lack of oxygen. If the person doesnt die immediately from 'air starvation', he or she may also suffer brain damage from lack of air to the brain for a short period of time. Lastly, if the person is choked by someone, the choking breaks various blood vessels/capillaries in the neck, causing an ugly bruise on the neck of the victim for some time.
