dawn666annapolis	in Africa there are a few women that have been cast out of their villages after childbirth due to the LINING being ripped out in delivery. the odor these woman have is the cause that they are cast aside. there is a Dr. there now trying to repair these women through surgery. one of the cable channels had a documentary i watched. so i think it's possible only if that lining is torn away. A fourth-degree episiotomy "extends through the rectum and cuts through skin, muscle, the rectal sphincter, and anal wall." OW OW OW Ouch! puppy.lover13	Not that I know of; however, when an episiotomy is performed, sometimes there is a cut from the vaginal wall to very close to the anus to allow room for the baby's shoulders. Sometimes this can lead to a tear toward the anus. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Kim B	There is a condition called obstetric fistula. A baby gets stuck for several days. The baby usually dies. The wall of the vagina gets damaged and sometimes breaks through to either the bladder or the rectum or both. The poor woman then just leaks waste products through her vagina. This condition is sadly quite common in 3rd world countries. Some wonderful doctors(the Hamelins) perfected the operation to cure this and many thousands of women have been saved from a life of misery and pain.
