Wow. Can she get tested for drug use? Not like she's using, but more like has it in her system? If you know for sure, it will be easier to solve.

Really weird. If you've never been around it, and do not know what it smells like. The only alternative is to have her arrested under suspicion. And If you are sending her to pre school. Have it raided bt A.T.F. agents and have every one of those free spirited kiddies busted before it spreads to kindergarten. You have to be vigilant and nip things like this in the BUD. (;-}

breath smell can in fact be a symptom (for example, a diabetic attack can cause sweet fruity breath), but i don't know what a marijuana smell would mean. i'd find another way to describe it and talk to her dr.

Firstly please excuse the dead head replies who are obviously children themselve's, get your child to the doctors, I feel it could be her diet or as a previous poster stated sucking on her jumper and taking in chemicals..good luck..

I suggest you consult with her pediatrician and have her breath checked. This could be an indication of some abnormal metabolic process going on with her. Best to consult a professional.

My husband doesn't smoke and he comes home form work smelling like it once in a while (he runs a deli, so I know its the food really). And I know for a fact he doesn't smoke, cuz I used to when we first met, so if he did we would have together. But, how often does your daughter brush her teeth? What kind of foods is she eating? This may play a factor in it.

She may be suffering from a simple case of halitosis or even gingivitis.
Has she ever been to a dentist yet? If not, you should find a good pediatric dentist and get her lil teeth checked out and address the problem with him, I'm sure they'll be able to help you out!
Good luck!

Hello worried dad,
First you need to determine if her health is threatened? Observer her and see. You are right to be concerned…This is one drug that has a very distinctive odor and the scent is hard to get mixed up with something else. I assume you are smelling this drug and under that assumption I to would generally suggest you see a doctor but keep in mind they may very well report you …to a social worker. Because those in the medical profession are legally obligated to do so whenever they conclude or even suspect a child this age was exposed ,as you suspect, to a drug. Simply put this would be considered child abuse.
Now one alternative you might consider instead of a doctor would be to play Monk and go investigate on your own. Who was last with your daughter and where did they go? The hemp plant is grown in some homes in the United States and it is what marijuana and hashish are produced from. Hashish consists of resinous secretions of the Cannabis plant; Marijuana is a tobacco-like substance. If your daughter ingested a drug like this she would have some symptoms like; loss of appetite animated behavior, loud talking, followed by sleepiness Dilated pupils, bloodshot eyes, hallucinations, distortions in depth and time perception; loss of coordination, fatigue, lack of coordination, disoriented behavior and paranoia.
Marijuana and Hashish are generally inhaled by smoking a "joint" (cigarette), "bong" (water pipe), "blunt" (cigar emptied of tobacco and filled with marijuana), or pipe. But they may also be used in baked foods and eaten. Hashish Oil may also be used in an aerosol form and can get on clothing which your daughter may have as noted rubbed up against her mouth or nose or even sucked on without understanding she was ingesting some of this.
I would suggest someone may have introduced your daughter to this drug through a food product. By mixing melted butter with hashish or hashish oil it can be used in a variety of recipes. But the after taste and your breath will have a Marijuana/hashes scent.
Some of the more popular food products that are made with this drug are:
S'mores
Banana Loaf
Tea
Chocolate Buds (brownies) This is the one I suspect your daughter may have been introduced to. It is made with Hershey's Premium Baking Bar Unsweetened Chocolate and dry ground Cannabis leaves. They use the brownie recipe on box. Your innocent daughter would have had no idea what she was eating.
You are a good dad. And I applaud you on being protective of your daughter. I wish you the very best on your investigation and I hope this helps- By the way if your determine she may have ingested the drug.. I'd never let her go near those parents again and you may consider reporting them.
