You have to do this with water!
Anyway, take exactly 13 gulps of water, no less and no more.
They'll go away :)

I once read a hiccup cure that stated "it never fails"....which I thought was a rather confident statement.
So we tried it and it has worked every single time!!!.... the success rate has been 100%...honest!!!!
Hope it works for you!
You get someone to stand behind you and block your ears while you drink a glass of water whilst holding your breathe. The pressure created by blocking your ears & holding your breathe must stop them??? Who knows how it works, but it does!!!!

If you can catch your breath a sec take a look at the health sites I found with remadies to try. I get them alot too but mine only last 15 mins max and drinking water or holding my breath is best for me.Try a spoonful of dry sugar, no water with it swallow it dry. For some reason my Grandmother said it works for her. But give the websites a try too k. Best of luck

take a deep breath and hold it as long as you can, when you can't hold your breath any longer take a quick breath in and then exhale (don't exhale until you take that quick breath in) this usually works for me every single time.

After trying all what's been said, try eating more Ginger!
Hiccups are often the result of irritation of the Diaphragm muscle, so calming remedies such as Ginger should be effective. Chew slices of fresh Ginger slowly, swallowing the juice. You can also mix Ginger juice with honey and drink slowly. Cloves, Ginger, and Ginseng all have beneficial effects on the digestive system and can be used in combination as a remedy for most cases of hiccups. A traditional Chinese recipe mixes 2 grams cloves, 3 grams persimmon calyx (available in most Chinese herb shops), 3 grams Ginseng, and 2 grams dried Ginger. These are boiled together and used as a tea.

this works for me every time!:
-sit by yourself in a quiet room
-close your eyes
-take deep breaths
-make a conscious effort to control your hiccups
try this for like five minutes. i know it sounds weird but it always works for me. if you just concentrate hard enough they'll stop!

The ONLY thing that works is this: Hold your breath for as long as you can, then breath out for as long as you can then repeat 4 times!

Try pulling on your tongue, it tends to help sometimes.
If you continue to have hiccups though I'd see a doctor, as it's caused by the disturbance of the phrenic nerve.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I don't remember what I did other than hold my breath, but it didn't go away, so I let it ride. I can't remember how or what I did, it just stopped.

It sounds weird, but seems to be becoming a fairly accepted method to cure hiccups:
1. fill a glass of water
2. bend forward at the waist
3. drink the water from the OPPOSITE side of the glass (so your chin is in the glass), so that you kind of have to pull the water in with the suction created as you inhale, swallow as necessary
4. repeat step 3 a few times
5. post back here and say whether it worked!

Turn upside down and drink water.
Hold your breath for as long as possible, then have someone hit you on the back at the last second.
Eat a spoonful of sugar.
Honestly, though, I usually just sit still and concentrate on my breathing - then they go away.

Sure fire -- this works every time. Get about 1 - 2 oz water in a glass, take in a deep (not too deep) breath and hold. Drink all the water then let out breath. Hiccups should be gone post-haste. Good luck!

Hah. Well, i do that all of the time.
Breathe slowly and deeply. Drink some sprite or something in between every other breath. If that dosent help hold your breath for just a little while and it should regulate. The first one helps me the most..

A big spoonful of peanut butter does it for me. Swallow a good amount of it, not so much that you choke, but something about it going down seems to stop the hiccups.
Good luck!

Deep breathes, hold your breath as long as you can, breath in and out of a paper bag, have someone scare you, hold your knees up to your chest and eat something.
Hope this helps!

Breathe repeatedly into a paper bag.
Drink a glass of COLD water.
Eat a teaspoon of sugar.
Hold your breath.
If they persist for more than a couple of days you should seek medical attention. Doctors can insert a tube into your throat and "tickle" the nerve that is misbehaving.
