I recommend re-posting this question under "Health -- Alternative Medicine". You'll probably get a wider variety of good answers than under "General -- Diseases and Conditions."
Good luck!

There is actually a pharmacy company that specializes in this. They take blood samples and work with you to naturally re-balance your hormones. All you have to do is get a referral from your doctor or gyn and they can give you the contact info to one in your area.

My mum used to have HRT but now swears by Red Clover instead. You can get it from Boots, it isn't all that cheap, but it works and its natural, it is specifically for the menopause. She and many of her friends and family use it, she says it beats HRT hands down.

I think that the Dr. is wrong to say homeopathic medicine doesn't work when there is tons of research out there that says otherwise. It is doctors like him that over prescribe meds and under treat the source of the illness that cause people like you and me to suffer all our lives when there ARE remedies out there. Especially when clinical trials are only done for 10 years before being bought to market,. Look at how many meds have been recalled.
I use all natural mangosteen juice that has tons of research on the Xanthones that are found in its makeup. (Google it) Because it is organic like us there are no side effects. Plus The people of southeast Asia have been using this fruit for over 2000 years -plenty of clinical trial and error time. Check out these links for yourself. God Bless!

The trouble with herbal alternatives such as plant oestrogens is that no one knows what the long term implications of using them are, the studies are just not being done. It has taken more than 20 years of studies into the long term effects of conventional HRT, and doctors are even now not totally sure of how the risk benefits stack up.

Homeopathic preparations are of course useless, since none of them have effects beyond placebo.

Perhaps there is still an argument for conventional therapy as it can at least be said it is the devil we know.
