no difference, the diameter of the cornea is 11-12 so the whole variation is in the conjunctival part of the lens

Actually I must tell you that you should see a doctor because it's the right thing to do. Even when wearing colored contacts that require no prescription it's still advised that you see a doctor.

Now that I've got all that political correctness away. I'll say that I have bought a couple of pairs of contacts from the beauty supply stores in my area. They sold two kinds one in the bottle and one in the packages. They said that the ones in the bottle were too thick so I bought the ones in the package. They felt fine in my eyes, didn't cause any infection, all was well. I have no idea what the diameter of them were because I was just buying colored contacts. Just by some and if they are comfortable were them if not discontinue use. Be sure not to sleep in them and to clean them properly and store them properly as well. Enjoy the prom.

They should be fine. 14 is what doctors prescribe in brands that don't come in 13.8. Just don't try and wear ones that come from a beauty supply store for more than one day. They sometimes aren't the same quality as the ones you would get from a doctor. Also, some doctors have samples of colored contacts, even the non-prescription kind. If you're had an exam within the year, they might be willing to sell you a pair.

Hey, i am going to have to say to hurry and take a trip to see your eye doctor, contacts are nothing to mess around with, not the right perscription can mess up your vision and hurt your eyes!

It is illegal to fill a contact lens order without a valid prescription. It sounds as if you don't have a prescription for colored lenses. You absolutely should not be buying them from a beauty supply store. I have treated a teen-aged girl for a corneal ulcer which ultimately scarred and left her permanently impaired. She, too, had ordered lenses without an rx prior to the federal law cracking down on the illegal sale of lenses. Please do not take this risk...there's nothing wrong with colored lenses so long as they are fit by a professional.
