Don't do that. Who knows what will happen. You may get caught and/or lose your good grades. Then you'll regret your actions. Stay disciplined and enjoy life as it's meant to be enjoyed, without the interference of drugs. |

Weed is a wonderful drug... but it has it's issues. It stays in your system. It gets you fired. All that stuff. It's illegal. However, it is still a very wonderful drug, and worth smoking, in my honest opinion. It opens your mind to so many wonderful truths. You really think. I would compare it to deep meditation. In fact, I am in the middle of a bong hit right now. I am not trying to be funny. It is sad that this drug remains illegal while alcohol is pretty much encouraged. How many of you have been assaulted or raped or shot or generally confronted by a stoned person? How about a drunk person? Yeah. Anyway, there are many things to consider if you want to try weed. It is illegal. You have to be careful about how you go about it. You also want to research general unbiased information on weed, to really learn if it is something you want in your system. You want to be sure that you're not taking any drug tests soon. You want to be sure that you're parents aren't going to absolutely kill you if you are caught. In fact, I encourage that you talk with them. It is likely that they have smoked in the past. |

don't try it. Are you wanting to because you know so many people that do it and it seems like no big deal? I did that when I was younger and I hated it. I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest, I thought I was having a heart attack. I never tried it again, your missing nothing good. My ex husband started off using it also, he said he wasn't addicted, he got tiered of it and moved on to harder stuff. I haven't meet one person who had made anything of them selves while using pot. |

As drugs go, marijuana is not very dangerous or addictive. Even compared to legal drugs (such as alcohol), it is relatively benign. As is the case with pretty much any drug, however, there is always the chance of addiction and other health consequences if you overindulge. There are costs and risks to smoking Cannabis apart from the effects it has on your physiology to consider as well. First of all, it's illegal. Being arrested for possession of narcotics is not a pleasant experience. It is, of course, possible to avoid arrest if you exercise some care, but it's still a question you should ask yourself. Are you prepared to deal with the potential ramifications of getting caught by the law? Another thing to be considered is the source of the drug. Since marijuana is illegal in the US, the only way you can procure marijuana (with a few exceptions) is to buy or otherwise acquire it from a criminal. Now, criminal doesn't automatically mean "bad person," but if you purchase the drug, you should consider where your money might be going. I'm also curious about marijuana, and if I had some fall into my lap and I trusted the source, I'd probably give it a try, unless I was expecting to apply for a job or something which would require me to take a drug test. Alcohol and tobacco aren't my thing, but I think marijuana might be more to my liking. I'm not really eager to try it though, since its illegal status makes it a pretty expensive indulgence, and I tend to avoid those. |

I think you should seriously wait till school is over if you really want to try because it can be very addicting. I honestly dont think it is that bad of a drug but only if your not addicted. Its easy to get addicted and caught up. YOu may not even realize that you are when you really are. It seriously can harm your body and your brain.....your a b+ student study the effects of marijuana than make your decision based upon your reasearch and your good working brain! |

Hi. I am 22 years old and smoked pretty heavy for the past 6 years. I was a B+ student. I was sure that I wouldn't get addicted, but ended up psychologically addicted. I developed bipolar disorder because my brain can't make enough Dopamine now (a natural neurotransmitter that sends messages throught your brain and body and is responsible for body movement-body language) Because it is psychologically addicting, after trying it 3 times, you WILL be planning to do it again, and again and again and "just one last time". As soon as you try it, your brain will be flooded with Dopamine (a , but your brain cells/neurons/receptors will be LITERALLY BURNING OFF (no longer useful). Dopamine: Dopamine is an important brain chemical involved in motor functions and general arousal. Dopamine is also involved in the ability to learn and the encoding of stimuli. Virtually all drugs of abuse, including heroin and other opiates, alcohol, Cocaine, Amphetamine and Nicotine activate Dopamine neuronal systems. So called "natural" rewards such as food, positive social interactions and even humor, likewise activate Dopamine neurons and are powerful aids to attention and learning. Sweet solutions are a well-characterized natural reward. When a source of sugar is encountered, animals will consume substantial amounts, return to it preferentially, and will work to obtain access. A number of psychiatric disorders are associated with imbalances with Dopamine, particularly schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, and mood disorders, including certain types of depression. Dopamine may also be involved in restless legs syndrome. High on Dopamine Temporary elevation of Dopamine levels often leads to an improvement in mood, alertness, libido, and perhaps even an enhancement in verbal fluency and creativity. However, a Dopamine increase can lead to side effects to including the propensity to have an addictive behavior. For instance, there have been a few reports that patients with Parkinson's disease became involved in gambling when the dosage of their Dopamine-enhancing medicines was increased. Interestingly, Dopamine at times may lead to a sleepy state. Shortages or Excessive Dopamine levels can cause: A loss of the ability to think rationally, or psychotic thought A suspicious or paranoid personality Memory impairments A lack of controlled muscle movements SO... the wiring of your brain will change, making it more DIFFICULT for you to conciously access the information in your brain!!! Your natural thinking path that includes reasoning and the help of your conscience (for making desicions) will become distorted. This means that you won't be able to organize or control your thoughts and often, you might space out. Then it will be hard for you to concentrate on your studies. YOU WILL LOSE CONTROL :) because you will loose motivation (from the changes in your brain). You WILL start to feel anxiety because you "won't know what to do" - about the changes in your body. You WILL get moody from it and might develop Depression. Plus, don't you want your children to have a smart and healthy father with high self esteem, social power and a nice career? DON'T YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY?? Many would kill to have a healthy brain like you! |

haven't you seen the "this is your brain on drugs" commercial? hope you like scrambled eggs. and btw....chances are you will most likely end up trying it. remember this: that crap stays in your system for at least 30 days, and it may not be an addiction, but could turn into a bad habit. |

The only thing I'll say is its not the drug that ever bothered me, it was the crowd and the "guy" I had to go to in order to get some that grossed me out. If you like that crowd or your in that crowd get out of it or jump in your choice but if you aren't in that crowd, then I wouldn't suggest going and looking for one. I would still smoke today if I didn't have to go to losers and dealers to get some. NOT legal then a waste of time. |

Its illegal and you could go to jail if caught,it could ruin your life, My brother tried weed just before he was to head out to Iraq, thought he'd like to just try it once before he went off to battle. Random drug test caught it and he got kicked out of the military after three years. Now he has to put it down on all his applications for work. this kind of stuff never goes away. Also just a note, Marijuana is not a kids drug, in most European countries the old men smoke weed, not the kids. They usually have better things to do. Its a good OLE Man drug of choice, because it makes you lazy, it stops you from doing things, you just sit around looking like a dumbass for a few hours, its an ok time when your old but when your young, there are much better things to do with your time than getting high. I don't recommend it at least not till you've made your first million dollars. Your gpa has nothing to do with your ability to reject drugs, alot of smarter guys than you have lost their way in life because of this " Gateway" drug. P.S.: Marijuana is not a New drug, people have been smoking weed since biblical times. |

don't try it. i don't care if you're an A+ student, it IS addictive, and it can kill or attract you your FIRST time using it. don't ruin your life because of some teenage urge. when you're older, you'll realize you made the right choice by not doing it. please don't tell me you're one of the kids that do it because it looks cool. because it actually is very unattractive. |

There is worse out there, but really you are better off not trying it. It is psychologically addictive for some people, it wont kill you, but it won't add to your life either. Honestly I understand your curious, but you are not missing out on much. |

yes. you should. just kidding...um...no? sorry, but no one in their right mind is going to tell you to do it, cuz it's like bad for you in like 50 different ways. and everyone starts off just wanting to try it you know. |

NO. Many many, many teens get addicted to drugs because they think if they only try it out once it doesn't matter. But they are wrong. Even trying it out once can get you addicted, harm your body in irreversible ways, or even killed. It's NOT worth the risk. There are other things in life that you could try. But not weed or any type of drug. Marijuana is addictive and it is very possible that you may be addicted. And then from then on it takes over your life unless you quit it. And once you are addicted, quitting is not easy at all. It's not worth it, trust me. |

Just keep in mind that: 1) It is ILLEGAL (if you get caught, you would be arrested) 2) It is ADDICTIVE (you might want to keep doing it) 3) It costs MONEY and could get expensive I've tried it, and believe me, it's not worth it. TOTALLY overrated. Good luck, I hope you make the right choice. |

I wouldn't try it if I were you. People who say it isn't addicting are lieing to you. They aren't your true friends if they are trying to get you into drugs. I'd advise for you to avoid those people. Trust me you don't want to get started, Once you start you might as well be hooked on it. |

yeah of course, if you want to develop schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or become stupid or become addicted....or have depression, anxiety, delusions, paranoia, hallucinations, if you're a guy your package shrinks and doesn't work very well because of the lack of blood flow, if you're a girl...good luck looking manly. 1 blunt=5-10 cigarettes so your lungs are becoming very damaged.. you may say you won't get addicted, but once you try it you wanna keep doing it. you're a B+ student, come on now..USE YOUR BRAIN. it COULD kill you, lets see....suicide...psychotic break....hmmm...if you're high and you hallucinate while you're driving you can possibly kill somebody...uhmm..since it damages your lungs so much, who knows!! you will **** your life up. i've seen very good and smart people become zombies and idiots on this stuff. don't do it, you may say you have self controll....but you won't after you do it. i'm only 18, i struggle with ADHD and bipolar disorder and i have NEVER done any drugs or drank to CAUSE bipolar disorder. i'm okay with the ADHD thing...but it took me months during recovery to not be ashamed and hate my parents for such bad genes [been on meds for a year now] and yuou know what? you're ******* lucky kid you have a WONDERFUL HEALTHY BRAIN do you know how BAD I'D LOVE TO TRADE WITH YOU?! don't take advantage of a normal brain. you are so stupid if you want to do that. there's people like me who deserve a normal life. |

The people who are going to tell you *not* to do it have obviously never tried it themselves. If they had, they'd know that weed isn't as bad as it's made out to be. Don't believe the stupid commercials - you're not going to get so ****** up that your going to burn down a house. Hell, you're more likely to do that if your drunk... You'll just mellow out and get giggly - not so inebriated that you won't have any self control. Basically it just gives you a different frame of mind. If you're curious, go for it... because the curiousity is never going to go away. Only do it if you want to. It's not addictive at all. I wouldn't go crazy and do it everyday, but once in a while is alright... it can have short term memory side effects, but nothing severe especially if you only do it occasionally. And no, you're grades aren't going to go down and you're not going to start doing heroin afterwards if you're a well balanced person to begin with. Plenty of people who smoke have successful lives. |
