What causes you to stress out once you are there? I'd carefully list those issues and see if they are solvable. If they aren't then I'd leave. Good luck! |

Absolutely, I just left a job I hated for 7 long years, during that time I got ulcers, I got sick all the time, I started loosing my hair, couldn't eat... I changed jobs a couple of months ago and LOVE what I do now- so see it is possible!! And by the way, I couldn't be healthier!!! |

Yes. Retail bites if you don't love people and dealing with their problems. |

Quitting is not always the answer though. If you have something else lined up, then go for it. If you don't; you might want to wait. First of all, why do you hate it? Is there something going on that is making the place unbearable? Unless you have something else lined up, I would try to fix the problem with your current employer. |

That all depends on you. I quit my last job recently because I had a feeling that I was going to be fired. Of course, I prayed about it and accidentally found a great job that pays much more. If you want to leave make sure you have something else to go to. You could write online if you feel like itl Associated Content always needs writiers. Good luck to you. |

Since you're questioning whether you should quit or not quit tells me your not quite there at wits end but you may be getting close to that point. You need to ask yourself some serious questions. First, what is really making you so mad and can you do something about it? Can you control your situations at work? Can you speak to a supervisor about what's going on and possibly better your situation? If none of these tactics work and all else fails start looking for another job and don't quit until you have a new job better than your current job. That when when you do quit you'll feel proud that your doing something to improve the quality of your life and getting paid for it. |

First off, you said "I think I hate it". Right there shows that you don't. In every job there are different stresses. What's separates winners from quitters is the drive, passion and want to be successful and make decisions that many cannot. Don't quit or give up. It defines who you are. Winners never quit and quitters never win. |

I dont think that you should work in an unpleasent work enviorment however before you quit make sure you have another place of employment. Doing this in that manner you will not go long without a paycheck. Good luck |

I've been asking myself this same question every day for three months now. I have been at my job four months. I get knots in my stomach when it gets near the time to go to work, and sometimes cry when I'm there. I really cannot go longer than a month without an income. I am older. I have a little savings, but a mortgage too. People tell me things like don't be a quitter, or how will you explain a gap on your resume, or find a new job first. But this job drains me so, I can't look for another while I'm on it. So I am quitting this week. Quit. There are plenty of jobs out there. True, rationally speaking, it is better to have something lined up first, but if you're so stressed, you can't find it. |

Maybe. Of course you can always walk out anytime you want. Depending on your life needs, where your at could influence your decision. Perhaps you should talk to some kind of counselor or life coach before running away. Also, think a bit about the fact whether you would like a positive reference from this store if you were to look for a job somewhere else. Good luck, life can be tough and messy sometimes. |

find another job first if you really don't like where you're at. And then move. It's always better to find another job first before leaving the one you have. |

You might look for something besides retail. It's a tough business. Holidays mean more hrs and work. Plus you will always have people that want to take their frustrations on you. Just because they can. |

if you dont like your job then yes you should quit but i would try to find something else first...but the question is why dont you like it?..the people you work with or customers?...maybe retail isnt for you |

Yes. Do it now. Your sanity is more important than your job, and it seems like the kind of job you can easily replace. |

Take the time to consider all that quiting entails. Is this a temporary situation that is stressing you out, will it go away ex. after audit, holidays, restructoring? When did your frustration begin, as soon as you started, were promoted, new boss, new employee, personal life situation, etc? Can it be worked through, with your boss, therapy, taking time off, LOA, etc.? Would taking a demotion, switching to another location help? Can you afford to leave, do you have a job waiting? Lastly, if you leave will you be feeling the same way once you go somewhere else? |

Life is too short to stay in a job that you do not like that stresses you to the point you say yours does. Don't burn your bridges though. Make sure you leave on good terms. |
