Energy drinks are a lie. They are sugary and caffinated and have no place in a child's diet. Adults should weigh the calories carefully when drinking these kinds of drinks.
Children are influenced by the flashy graphics and "coolness" of energy drinks (as are many adults) but in truth, they provide no nutrional benefit and may cause problems with sugary snacks, weight gain, and even diabetes in the future.

I have a 10 year old sister and I would never give her something with that much sugar in it.

At first I thought you meant one of those big-belly-size drinks from the fast food places, but this sounds equally bad. I didn't start drinking Jolt for "sleepovers" until I was at least 12... and I still wouldn't say it was a great idea... even for adults. If you need caffine or something like it, it's an indication that something is wrong - not enough sleep!

No way...far too much caffeine and other crap not good for growing kids. What happened to juice, or even kool-aid is better than that.

Yeah sure. It's no worse than a Coke. Just supervise them and make sure they are able to be physically active when they do so. Also make sure they get plenty of other fluids so they don't get dehydrated. No biggie. It's just like a kid getting halloween candy.

That should be up to their parents. When I was a kid, my brothers and sisters were only allowed to have soda on the weekends. One on Saturday, one on Sunday. I'm pretty sure we'd have never been allowed energy drinks.
