If you kill a person because they are attempting to kill someone who is undefended or incapable of defending themselves, or you kill someone who is attempting to kill you and the only way to stop them is to kill them, or you are a soldier on a battlefield, then killing is not murder. If you kill millions you may not be a conqueror, you might just be a monster, like Hitler, Pol Pot, or Mao Tse Tung - they killed millions and most people just think of them as monsters, not conquerors.
