Your parents are probably aware of your obsessive compulsive behaviours, if you have OCD. Show them reliable information about OCD and compare with your symptoms and tell them you want to diagnosed and treatment.

Just tell them it's not like they are going to punish you or anything they may try to get you some help, that is if it REALLY bad. I'm sure that even thought they haven't said it out loud they probably already suspect it b/c they are you parents after all, they've watched you from birth. Don't be afraid just bring it up casually. "Mom I was looking on-line and came across an article and I think it describes me pretty well yad yad yad....I have OCD"

Just tell them, straight up. It's nothing to be ashamed about or anything like that. I think OCD is very common, lots of people have it in many different forms. If yours is a more severe case, they may have already noticed, although it seems like they would say something if they did.

OCD is unfortunate that you have it but it is not life threatening and is treatable... To tell them of your suspicions as that is all you have at this time.. I would sit down with them after dinner and then tell them of your suspicions... I think that is the best and ONLY way to inform them.

Realize that it's not your fault that you have OCD. It's not like you are taking drugs or got your girlfriend pregnant - your parents won't dismiss you because you have OCD. The sooner you tell them, the sooner they can support you to start getting help, and OCD can be greatly improved with professional help. Just be upfront about it...approach them and simply say that you have something to tell them. "I've got something to tell you...I don't know if you've heard of OCD but lately I've had a lot of the symptoms and I think I need to do something about it". It would be a good thing to get off your chest. Good luck! :D

Describe your OCD symptoms to them and see if they feel or see the same. Ask them-why do I always blah or does everyone do xyz. It would help you all to come to the OCD conclusion together rather than bombarding them with the info?!

I hope that your parents are more understanding of psychiatric disorders than mine are. I am 46 and have suffered with OCD since i was about 16. You need to tell them that you believe that you have ocd so that you can be assessed by a doctor. There is help for you though. There is a drug called Luvox and it is solely for the treatment of OCD. Tell them about it don't be afraid it is not your fault. I don't suffer with it half as much now as i did without medication. Tell them hopefully they will understand.

Haven't they figured it out yet? I mean, surely if you have it you are doing lots of crazy stuff like checking the stove 42 times before leaving the house, kissing the doorknobs, etc.
