Quit pandering. Comfort her when she is frightened, but, do not avoid the requirements of everyday life.

Bring her to a bridge...
Stand behind her..
Say that you're holding on to her
Pretend to let go...
She'll freak out...
Hate you for a little while...
But she'll get over it...
AND her fear of heights..
:D

It's something she has to do for herself. Sometimes jumping out of a plane can help (just being put in a situation where she has to let go of it really). If she has Acrophobia though she could need to see a psychologist to get over it. It all depends on how great her fear of it is. She does need to do it for herself though.

You need to encourage her to conquer her fears by taking her somewhere high

Talk to a therapist, or you help her out. It's better if you help her since you are very close. Go rock climbing with her. By no time, she will be ok.

have her do something that requires heights and when she sees that it's not bad, she'll be cured!
it would also be cute if you were like all protective and stuff. show her you care.
good luck!

First make sure that her fear is irrational. If she experiences vertigo, then she has a fairly rational fear of heights. Have a ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctor rule out any physical problems with balance and orientation before you start addressing the psychological factors.
Then I would second the St. Louis arch as a good place to start because she would be obviously safe and could stop and sit down if she needed to. I wonder if something like a Ferris wheel would be helpful since every minute or so you are back close to the ground. Choose one of those slow, steady old-fashioned ones that don't stop too much. If you have a local park with a hill have her walk up the hill under her own power that way she always has the option of stopping to adjust and rest or to go back down a bit before continuing. Also, try indoor rock climbing. Again, she is under her own power and can come back down anytime and she can go just as far as she is comfortable. It might be a way to introduce fun into conquering a fear in a way that could motivate her into trying harder. Try taking her swimming in a nice clear pool where she can swim over the deep end and look down. If it freaks her out, all she has to do is pull her head up and the floor is right at eye level. I bet she will appreciate the effort you are putting into helping her. Good luck!

No matter what I do, my fear of heights always comes back, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. It will always be there, just don't let it control her. I would say 'just go for it', because whatever you're planning on doing, the experience will outdo the fear.

Tell her that you'll always be with her. If that doesn't work, then take her somewhere that girls like to go, like maybe on a fun vacation, in a high, beautiful view in a building, that might help her fight her fear.

You can't. It takes time and even that may not help. If you take her to a high place she could have a panic attack and that's never good.
Just don't take her to any high places.

You can NOT be cured of a phobia ... and I know this because I have three phobias, one of which is a 'fear of heights' ... and you can not do ANYTHING for your girlfreind. SHE is the ONLY PERSON who can do anything about this phobia. For that reason, I'm not going to even give you things she can do to make it less of a phobia for her ... if she wants to get over her phobia, she can ask the question here or do a search or get help from a therapist. I know this stuff because I'm a psychologist, and I have a fear of heights, too ... plus two other phobias. I also am not bothered by any of them, because I took care of myself ... that is the MOST IMPORTANT thing with phobias ... taking care of yourself.

Does she want to cure her fear of heights? I ask, because I'm terrified of heights too, and I don't want to be 'cured' I want to keep my feet on the ground lol.
seriously though, has she said to you that she wants to be 'cured'? That would make a difference on how to approach the issue
