Can I be sucessful?

I am in a private school and the work load is alot for a 9th grader. This cycle, I got 2 c's and 2 b's and 1 a. One of my teachers is very mean and said to me once that I am not going to be ...

I am in a private school and the work load is alot for a 9th grader. This cycle, I got 2 c's and 2 b's and 1 a. One of my teachers is very mean and said to me once that I am not going to be sucessful in life. I always think about what she said and I become depressed and afraid that I might not hold out a job. Right now, I am aiming towards working with computers and people always ask me questions about them. When this happens, I feel very focused on computers and read books about them all the time. Do you think I could be sucessful?

P.S. I don't always get c's all the time. I got a few A's the previous cycle.

Dakotawolf	Don't believe what your teacher told you. If you want to be successful then be it. If you do fail at something don't let that stop you just try it again but make sure you realize why you failed then you won't make the same mistake twice. So yes you can and will be successful if you set your mind to it and you can be successful in anything you choose.

John	Just always think that you can. Don't let others let you down. Do everything that you love, you think that can help you become succesful! Just believe! Focus! Aim!

Athene	Are you sure you didn't misunderstand her? I think you should ask her to clarify the statement, and state her reasoning. If you're too stressed to do that then can a parent enquire? Whatever, you should talk to your parent(s) about your depression/anxiety. Ax .

Suresh M	Your sub-conscious mind is the builder of your life, nobody else.You can do whatever you like which is beneficial to your life. Whatever you impress on it later will move heaven and earth to bring it to pass. You must therefore impress it with right ideas and constructive thoughts.

hanh_giaovien	How your life is depends on you, not his remark. Don't worry. You will be successful when you really start now.

Art Stuff	You can do well in YOUR life because it is YOURS. What you have to be careful of is people who will do their damnedest to drag you down. Your teacher sounds like one of those people. I suspect she hasn't made as much of her life as she ought to have done, so enjoys 'keeping' people on her level. What you could try and do (and I know it isn't easy!) is write yourself a list of things you enjoy and are good at. Don't feel you have to show it to anyone, but do be honest! Also, another good trick is to say to yourself "I'm good at <enter what you are good at here>". Be aware that things you enjoy may not be the same as things you are good at! But it doesn't mean you shouldn't put them down. What you will be doing is giving your mind a bit of a positive push. There's nothing wrong with giving your ego a little boost now and again :o) PS. I had a teacher like that at school, I am only know accepting I am not the failure she wanted me to be. Don't let this happen to you!! Good luck!

Cata	you sound perfectly fine! just focus on your work, and dont worry about the teacher. he/she is over-exaggerating

gags	hey its just that what success means to you and your teacher.if you take it as getting a job ...u will obviously get it..u are pretty focused and grades are not everything in life...they might not reflect you as a whole.so 1.don't be upset with your grades. 2.compete with your own self rather than others and have a positive self esteem 3. don't let others decide your future.its just the way u want to see it and u can make it anytime . 4.success could mean much more than getting a job..take life as a whole and don't concentrate on one aspect( getting job). 5.be confidence ..listen to others .but believe in ur self.u may fall in life but then u can stand again with your courage. and you can always achieve what you want... hope it helps

Psych Nurse- TLC	I HAVE A FRIEND THAT GREW UP IN THE BACK OF A DAIRY IN A SHACK. HIS PARENTS WERE ILLEGAL. HE STARTED BUYING 1 CALVE AT A TIME. WHEN HIS HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER TOLD HIM HE WOULD NEVER BE ANYTHING, HE EXPLAINED TO HER THAT HE HAD MADE $30,000 THAT MONTH. HE THEN ASKED HER HOW MUCH SHE MADE. HE IS NOW A MILLION AIR WITH HOUSES AND DAIRIES THROUGH OUT CALIFORNIA AND NEW MEXICO. NEVER *** LISTEN TO PEOPLE THAT PUT YOU DOWN. THEY CAN'T FOR SEE THE FUTURE OR SEE WHAT IS IN YOU. Moo C	If you have to ask this question, it means you have a confidence problem, and if you don't get that fixed, no, it will be hard for you to become successful. Why? Because confidence (to the point of almost arrogance) is a trait that you find in all successful people.

Kimber	Don't let anybody tell you if you can be sucessfull or not. grades or teachers really cant determine that. all my life my teachers told me that art would get me nowhere and that i'd be nobody. i believed them, but now i'm a tattoo artist and a painter. and i consider myself very sucessfull. you really have got to find something that you love to do. And you've go to ask yourself what is sucessfull to you?

If you are being polite and doing every thing you possibly can...Then just KEEP DOING THAT!!! In the areas that you are getting weak grades.... Devote a little more time with them... Even devote a little extra time on the weekends to bring up those grades. Do the Best That You Can!!! THAT'S WHAT DETERMINES SUCCESS!!! Get the knowledge and learn HOW to use that knowledge..... Bad Co.	Sounds like your teacher should join a 1-900 physic line. (L) Please don't even let that be the one thing that makes you change your course in life. You decide what your life's going to be like. Opinions are like assholes everyone has one. Whats your opinion? Your grades can improve with a little more elbow grease. Get Busy!! In ten years look her up and invite her or him to coffee and explain how that one negitive remark, made you fight harder to be a succes and its all thanks to them. Good Luck.

darcyaf1	I went to a public School. When I got to J. H.S. I kept flunking most of my classes and barely passing the exams to pass to the next grade. (school was hard for me) Then I moved to California. And suddenly ...it was was like a door opened. I found clases that I liked and teachers who I could trust. The happier you feel in what you are doing help you succeed. You stat you are happy when you work on computers. It you get praise from your peers when you can answer their questions. When you complete H.S. you'll discover College is much more fun and I also suggest you take as many Computer Classes as possible. (besides the reccommended coarses) Try Computer Sciences as a profession - get a employment as an intern (first) in a Computer Company or retail Company. Talk to a College Counselor about this they can also assist you in your likes and dislikes. ANd this depression you will feel will hopefully melt away like ice cream. PS Females eat Ice cream when they are depressed. for some reason it actually makes you feel better. (esp. after having a bad day)

musicrow21	Dude, any teacher who says that you are not going to be successful is not much of a teacher. Bill Gates was a college dropout. Charles Shultz was told by an art teacher he would never be successful. He created the Peanuts comic strip..Snoopy..Charlie Brown. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you won't be something. You can do anything. You should study more and develop that talent you have for computers. YOU could be the next Bill Gates.

Mommyto3	You can definitely be successful! Don't let that teacher get you down about yourself. One of the most successful people I know made c's and d's at a private high school and then a private college. He was the guy who lived on the computer, played video games for days on end and was constantly told he would never amount to anything. Now, he's working at Sony making a boatload of money designing video games (triple digit income). The thing is, if you're good at computers and really like it, then follow that path. Don't worry about being able to hold onto a job because when you find one you really enjoy it won't be an issue. I know it hurt to have her say that to you but try not to take it to heart. Won't it be nice to go up to that teacher later and say "Look at me now!"? I tell my kids all the time that as long as they try their hardest, have passion for something (my oldest son's is science & computers too) and have a goal in life then the actual report card grades aren't that important. You will be fine and very successful. Oh...and by the way...Albert Einstein was kicked out of school as a child because his idiot of a teacher told him he would never succeed. Bill Gates dropped out of college, etc, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

Simmi	Please don't listen to people who say ridiculous things like that. They don't know. I also know many people who flower after high school. Some don't even do it in any school and flower in the business world. It sounds like your teacher was frustrated and took that out on you. The advantage of a degree (please get a basic degree), is that you are in competition with many other people. Some won't even interview you unless you have a high school degree. You probably would have to work harder to get ahead without a college degree, but many people have done it. Don't let it hold you back.

iltmaemc	The key to success is to be happy. success has nothing to do with making money. You can have a very low level job, and if you can smile every day and be at peace with your self every day, you are very sucessful. if you reach a high level postion in a company,and make lots of money, but you are un happy you are a complete failer

Thomas	Ignore that idiot teacher who said you will never succeed. Yes, of course you'll succeed, and you'll not only succeed, you'll do quite well. Your grades are good--there's nothing wrong with a "C." Keep your chin up and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

Nana	Nobody has the right to tell you that you won't be successful in life. Never give permission to anyone to let you believe that. If you believe you can, then you can. If you believe you can't , then you can't. Success always goes to the person who thinks he/she can.

dolores s	Sounds like you have access to education that many of us wish we had. It also sounds like you have talent. Maybe your teacher was jealous because you knew something they did not. Prove them wrong. And in 20 years that hag of a teacher will see you face on the cover of a magazine-Time magazine, most eligible bachelor.

gotta luv da Li	My brother's fourth grade teacher told him and my parents that he was mentally retarded. My parents insisted that he be tested because what she said made no sense. His results said he was at grade 12 in reading and math. He was hyper. She didn't like him. He had grades like yours in high school, btw. Somewhat better in college. He wasn't a stellar student but he's been very successful in life. Moral of the story... Some teachers shouldn't teach. You'll do fine.

meg (on Violet Hill)	Dude, you're only in 9th grade! You'll be fine. Yes, you can be successful. I don't care if you're getting straight D's! Life is not all about getting straight A's in school. Do you know that some of the most successful people from this country did not get straight A's in school? A LOT OF THEM!! It may not make you feel too much better but George W. Bush was a C student in school. And he's our freaking president!! Screw your teacher. I remember in Junior High and Highschool my teachers and classmates and a lot of other people told me I'd never do anything in life. And guess what? I'm much further in life than they are right now. I'm 19 and am already a published writer. What are they doing? lol The most important opinion of who you are, is your very own. The most important One who's judgement of you that really matters is God's. And God doesn't just see a B or C student with one A when He looks at you. He sees your potential and who He already knows what you are going to become. You are already successful in His eyes. Now you just have to be successful in your own. Go easy on yourself. All that's important is that you put your best into all that you do. That my friend, is success right there.

Jason A	my uncle never got a's. he always got c's and b's and sometimes d's. he was very bad in skool failed tests and didnt turn in homework. every1 thought he would be the janitor for that skool. he went out and proved them wrong, he now owns his own business and makes a 5 figure salary. he makes about 50-80 grand a year. depends on how things go. so it does not matter about skool. seriously?? skool is bs. i know so much things, we had to built a molecular structures. i always got it write, but when he had to write how we did it, i failed. sometimes you learn but cant express it. also im becoming a chef. what do i need history and computer and pe for?? so dont get upset when u get a c in history..unless u want to become a history teacher

nan	Grades on a report card will not mean much later on in life. I made c's and some d's in high school. Went to college for nursing and made the deans list 7 out of 8 quarters. When you find what you are interested in you will be amazed at how high the grades are. I also had a teacher tell me the same thing, forget what she said. Know what you want and go for it, just don't get sidetracked with drugs or alcohol and you can be anything you want to be. By the way that teacher needs to be reported. Goodluck.
