No, it is inevitable, things that live eventually die. Look what Scorates said... "What do you remember about before you were born? Then death must be very much like that." |

nope... maybe i'm afraid to get a bad illness but i am not afraid to die... even if you're afraid to die, it won't prevent it from happening... you are STILL going to die... anyway, dying doesn't really hurt... it's just the fact that you are going to be seperated from you're loved ones... but not for long... they also have to die... cuz everyone has to... |

The question is... are you? what would make you ask people if their afraid. Btw, I'm ok with dying... its like having a vacation to me. That just tells you that I'm very stressed and has a lot of pressure. |

WELL! An excellent question to ask. I learned that I had a brain tumor about 2 weeks ago, so I'm definitely thinking about it these days. Yes, I guess I am afraid. No I'm not ready to go... But whoever is? Am angry about it? Just a little bit... I don't know what the future holds for me right now. But being afraid is a part of it. Fear of the unknown..... Fear of the pain (which is present already). Fear of leaving the place before I've done some of the things I wanted to get done first...... I guess all I can really do now is to just pray and hope that my time isn't as close as it feels. |

I'm not afraid of dying, because it's just part of your natural life process. What I worry about it, is how, under what circumstances...? |

Well, I'm a Christian, so I know I'll go to heaven after I die. I'm not afraid of actual dying, I'm just scared of the way I'll die. Will I suffer? Will it be long and painful? Will it be short, abrupt and painful? I'm just afraid of how it'll happen. Anyway, if I'm old, and I still haven't died yet, I think I'll be less afraid. I know this sounds kinda silly, but I want to die between the ages of 72 and 83. When I'm around there, I may be ready, or I may want longer. I think that when a person doesn't feel a need to live longer, and feel that they have accomplished and fulfilled everything that needed fulfillment in their life, that they are ready. |

I am not afraid of dying, as I have died before, technically anyway. During open heart surgery my heart was stopped and I was put on bypass while they fixed me up. The one sure thing is at the end of your life whenever it is, you will die !! |

not sure i guess is the way you view dying as some view it as transacting to another stage of life, the heavenly one; others view it as the end of time with their families and friendss depends on your mentality and experience too if you saw someone die horribly, you'd be afraid; if you saw someone close leave peacefully with a wonderful and fruitful life, you wouldn't be afraid. yeah |

Many people will not admit it, but most people probably are at least some of the time. Most of the time we don't think about it. The best solution I have ever heard is the Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it: Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. |

I used to be terrified but not so much now im a trainee nurse and understand its one of the natural things. but id rather not die! and i dont want it to be a heart attack thing, its not the way i want to go. or coughing up blood, i just want a nice Gentle death in my sleep. or maybe a dramatic suicide if i got a terminal degenerative disease, eg, brain tumor. |

haha....um yeah. Not the actual pain/dying part, just whatever comes after. I would be scared of the actual dying part though if I saw something that should be inside me, out of sight. I don't wanna see any guts or anything. Sick. |
