I would say circumcise, although you should really just consult your doctor on this and not people on the internet. A cut (circumcised) penis looks better, is easier to clean, doesn't get smegma, has a less chance of getting penile cancer, has a less chance of giving a woman cervical cancer, and has a less chance of contracting diseases. And to answer your other question, NO it won't defect the size of the penis, whether it's circumcised or not. Good luck with your decision, and remember consult your doctor.

obviously not many of the men that have responded have done much traveling across the globe. I've been to every country that's worth going to on the planet and I've never been anywhere were uncircumcised was preferred. many women from other countries love American men just because of that
but I guess as a mom that's not that important...lol

I would circumcise, I was and I did so with my son. Looks better and will be cleaner and easier for him to maintain.

It's your choice. What we think does not really matter. As far as opinions, I have enjoyed my circumcised penis for 51 years with no trouble from it, unlike some of my uncut friends. Easier to clean, too.

Circumcision is more of a religious thing. Apparently if you need to ask this question, then you're not affiliated with that certain religion. Circumcision won't affect your son's "size" and it'll also reduce the buildup of smegma, commonly found in uncircumcised penises.

Uncircumcised means that the tip of the penis is not shown.
Circumcised means the the tip of the penis is shown.
My sister told me that my brother in law is uncircumcised & he has to be always checking to see if anything is in there & cleaned thoughly becuase uncircumcised penises have more of a tendancy to get a rash because of the foreskin having to be pulled back & not be exposed like a circumcised penis

1. Baby feels less pain as compare to adults
2. there r less nerves & blood vessels in foreskin of baby as compare to adults.
3. A baby can born with natural circumcision, who so ever said never about it, has no knowledge.
4. foreskin can get stuck & one has to undergo emergency operation for that as it is painful till it is circumsized.
5. circumcision wont make any difference to size or feelings(with apology, if it was so Arabs wouldnt have so many wifes & so many kids)
6.decision depends on u
7. The procedure is not inhuman as some one has described & painkiller is always given

Doesn't affect the size. It does require more care if you don't circumcise. You have to pull the foreskin back to clean it and make sure that foreskin stays loose. Your wife will probably have that primary job, so that is something to discuss with her. Also, for many women an uncirc'd guy is a big turn off, so choose wisely!!

you hear people on the net say its bigger uncut and its bigger cut. all depends on the guy. how he grows not wether he has a foreskin or not. circumcision is easier to clean, felt better for me after getting it at 23. (not medical reasons) and there is less chance of infections.

ok guys here is the perfect answer by a surgeon.
after the research th doctors found out somethings bout it.
circumcise is better much better than uncircumcised why here r the reasons..
1....uncircumsiced guys have more risk like 60% of getting into hands of HIV aids when going thru mating process.
2...my bro was uncircumsiced and he got the prob at age of 12 he felt pain while doing urine so we got him circumsiced and surgeon said if we didnt brought him for next 7 days there surely wud hav been emergency .
3...cicrumsiced guys find themself easy to clean and they dont hav to clean inside bcuz if the ucircumsiced boy doesnt clean inside that thing from where he excretes the urine the bacteria will start developing there and ultimately a worse infection can take place.
4..and circumsiced guys find more pleasure and easy to mate with their lifepartener than those who r uncircumsiced bcuz when a person is uncircumsiced his sensitiv muscles also touch the outer skin and that usually is painful so it will somhow b frustrating for his lifepartner
conclusion
get ur son circumsiced is best for him now the surgeons hav techniques that dont even let a single drop of blood spill out and is 100% safe
and no is not religious ppl think is religious but no is not u can definitely see from above reasons why ppl prefer it .
some ppl say is just religious just bcuz they dont hav enuff knowledge .
good luck madam
may ur son liv a gr8 life full of blessings and good health

All males are born uncircumcised, though the amount of foreskin varies from guy to guy. It's possible for someone to be born with a foreskin so short it almost doesn't exist, but that's very rare. About 70-80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised, and about 95% of that population never experiences any problems with their foreskins. Of the 5% that do, only a small fraction are serious enough to warrant a medical need for circumcision.
Circumcision is painful, and anesthesia doesn't work to well on infants; it'll work perfect on some infants and almost not at all on others. Many infant circumcisions are still done without anesthesia (see link 1). Also, infant circumcisions carry risks and complications that don't happen in adult circumcisions; these can range from infection (which ironically is a reason some people argue for circumcision) to much more severe consequences (see link 2).
Circumcision doesn't affect penis size, though it might decrease erections if it's done so tight that erections are painful. But, circumcisions remove many nerve endings in the foreskin and thus reduce sensation; the penis is less sensitive after circumcision (see link 3). Also, it has been found to decrease sexual satisfaction for both the man and the woman (see link 4 and 5).
Recent research has shown that circumcision might decrease the contraction rate of HIV. It is worth noting that proper and prompt hygiene of the foreskin and penis essentially negates this benefit of circumcision; with proper hygiene, the difference between uncircumcised and circumcised men in regards to contracting HIV is insignificant (see link 6). Furthermore, the connection between circumcision and HIV is still being debated and contested (see links 7 and 8), so I would hesitate to decide on circumcision based on this. In any case, good hygiene and safe sex (i.e. condom use) will win over circumcision any day.
There are lots of sentiment out there that the foreskin is unclean, is prone to infections and disease, and whatnot. The foreskin is actually very easy to clean and maintain once you know how to do it (see link 9); it's been absent in the US for so long that many people no longer know how and it has become taboo.
Personally, I'm uncircumcised and have never had any problems with it, and I wouldn't want to change it if I didn't have to. If you have your son circumcised, you'll have to subject him to surgical risks - in rare cases this could have a very bad outcome. On the other hand, if you leave him uncircumcised, and help & teach him good hygiene and safe sex, he'll likely never have a problem with his foreskin. Most problems relating to the foreskin are preventable; the same can't be said for all problems that might result from a circumcision. So, my two cents' worth, if I were you I'd leave your son uncircumcised - he can always decide later if he wants it, he'll at least have the choice. Look at the last two links for more discussion and debate on circumcision.

What a stupid dumb sh*t thing to say"It looks good"What a stupid dumb sh*t thing to say"it's cleaner"What a stupid dumb sh*t thing to say "it protects against disease" don't have it done, leave your sons penis alone,it isn't yours to mutilate as you wish.It is your son's and it is there for a damned good reason and that is for protection.Ignore all of the stupid people who say it looks good or it's cleaner, follow the links provided by the more informed anti circumcision, ones and they will take you to sites that can explain it far better than i can.Yes there are risks to circumcision and many more than the pro circumcision camp care to admit to,no,it wont affect the overall size, but it can cause very painful erections if too much skin is hacked off.and it does desensitize the glans.A friend of mine had it done when he was in his twenties and he now says it was the worst decision he made in his life, the sex just isn't that good.

both of my sons are circumcised because of the foreskin sealed the urinary opening and they could not pee. If it wasn't for the medical need i would have left them alone. When a baby is circumcised they are tied down to a board and the foreskin is pinched in a pair of forceps (locking tweezers) it is then pulled upwards and a scalpel cuts the skin off then the skin left is pushed back behind the glans and is wiped with alcohol then a a dap of Neosporin is added to stop the raw skin from sticking to the diaper. While all this is going on your baby is screaming and choking and crying in pain while no one soothes him (no pain medicine is given) At every diaper change you or you wife will have to rub all the medicine off the sore little penis and wash it and reapply medicine it takes about a week or so to heal and every time he pees it will burn and he will cry. I ask is it worth all that just to have a "pretty Penis" ? For pictures of the procedure go to www.mothersagainstcirc.org . No matter what anyone says though it is your child and your decision but at least research before you decide

Circumcision is a bad idea, in my opinion. It's removing an important part of your son's penis, and he'll miss it later. I'm circumcized and I'm not happy about it at all... neither are most people I know.

When a boy is born he is uncircumcised. A little bit of skin covers the penis. It is called the foreskin. It requires retracting it back, cleaning the penis, drying the penis, and replacing the foreskin once or twice a day. When he reaches sexual maturity, his erections will appear the same as a circumcised penis because the foreskin will retract with erection. His penis is generally more sensitive than a penis that is circumcised. This is because in circumcision the small piece of skin is removed usually with a scalpel though other methods are available. This leaves the penis exposed at all times and subject to various stimuli like rubbing on clothes that makes it less sensitive. personally, I wouldn't circumcise a male baby and teach him the special hygiene considerations to guard against infection. it's simple and natural. Most of the world's men are not circumcised. Depending upon the population that you live in, he may be viewed differently by his peers which becomes acceptable. There is also the rare event of cutting the penis off which has happened. Doubtful but can occur with the procedure.http://www.medicinenet.com/circumcision_the_surgical_procedure/article.htm This article may help,http://www.cirp.org/library/procedure/plastibell/ This is a bit graphic but does accurately depict a circumcision. Have a nice Easter and know that things will work out no matter what you choose.

Why would you want to subject your baby to intense pain as a way of welcoming him into the world? He won't remember it, but he will experience it. Some parents say their sons slept through the procedure. Now it is proven that babies that appear to sleep through circumcision actually have gone into shock! In some cases their hearts stop. If you are even thinking about doing this horrible thing to your baby, please watch the video at http://www.cirp.org/library/procedure/plastibell/ If you can't bear to watch it, remember that this will be happening to your helpless child, who trusts you to protect him, whether you watch or not.
As for his sex life later on, there have been numerous studies that show that uncircumcised penises are more sensitive. And a full 90% of women say sex is better with an uncut man: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html
There is some evidence that circumcision does decrease the size of the penis, but since we don't know how big a guy would have been if he'd been the other way, it's hard to be certain. But there is no good reason to do this to your precious - and born perfect - baby son.

Being cut doesn't change the size. If it did, men would have abolished the process long before Mozes and the 10 Commandments.
However, I am cut and I notice that in cold weather mine tries to retreat... I think it does so more than it would if I were not circumcised. My penis isn't particularly small, but this can be embarrassing for a teenage boy, which was frequent by reason that I was heavily involved in the swim squad, although I survived the embarrasment because I have large testicles!
I have two sons (18y and 16y) and they have both been left natural. Nothing has eventuated from that decision, except that they both retain their foreskins, the way nature intended them to be. There is plenty to be said for not fixing something that isn't broken.
People talk about cleaning an uncircumcised penis etc. While he is a baby, you needn't do anything extra.. dont try to pull back the forsekin..... the foreskin is pretty much attached to the glans at birth and you just leave it that way. Between birth and toddler your son will get erections and the forskin will Loosen up a little.. but you needn't try and pull it back to clean it, just wash it and teach him how to wash it and leaqve the foreskin alone. At potty training stage you can show him how to pull it back enough for urinating... this is a good thing because it forces him to take more time at tthe toilet... resulting in less cleaning of surrounding walls and floor, I think. At around 4 or five, he will be exploring his body more and that's when you can tell him about cleaning properly.... at a time when he will absorb the information about his foreskin. You then remind him about washing until he is about 7 or 8.. just as you have to about washing behind his ears.
From a young age, I have washed my circumcised penis every day. That's pretty normal in this day and age for either cut or uncut boys. Whichever way it is, small children need to be taught to clean their bodies properly, behind their ears, their butts, their faces, their hair and yes, even their penis. That's just good parenting. Opportunities for bathing might have been different in ancient Egypt when they started circumcising boys.
The medical reasons for circumcision are apparently rare... but there is a good fee in it so it is called "elective surgery".

Unless for religious reasons DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is horrible for a poor baby to have to have part of his body cut away. Many hospital do NOT use any type of numbing medication or pain medication.
Do you want to know how much it would hurt???
Take a knife and cut the end of you little finger off, then do not take any pain medication for the pain.
It is simple to teach kids to clean themself. My 3 year old can pull his own foreskin back and clean it by himself.
Just because an infant can not say how bad it hurts does not mean that it doesn't.

I personally think think, "why fix what's not broke".
My ex-husband was circumcised, but I chose not to have our son circumcised. Foreskin is a healthy, normal part of the male anatomy. EVERY male was and will be born with it. If you decide to not circumcise him, make sure you clean his penis properly during every diaper change/bath. And, show him how to clean himself when he's old enough to wash himself.

It's not really neccessary. In fact, I wouldn't do it unless your doctor recommends it. My dad didn't, and I'm now glad he didn't. You just have to teach him how to clean it. I say let him decide when he's older.

Don't do it! Male circumcision isn't practiced in most parts of the world; in fact, they think it's downright horrible. Why remove a useful piece of skin that has a perfectly good reason for being there? (Protection of the glans, or head of the penis.)
When they remove the foreskin, they actually RIP it away from the penis. What you see on a grown man's penis is actually SCAR TISSUE if he's circumcised. And do you know how much feeling there is in scar tissue? Not as much as the original! (Which, left intact, equals about 12 square inches of the most densely, nerve-laden tissue on a man's body.)
Look it up on the web and you can find lots more information. I researched it completely before having my own children and am SO GLAD I found out the details before having it done without any facts.
As far as what it will look like -- WHO CARES?! If he learns how to use it right, the ladies won't care!!!
Good luck!
ps The medical establishment no longer recommends this procedure for any MEDICAL reasons. (Cleanliness, buildup of smegma, penile cancer, etc.) In fact, there's an association of medical practitioners who speak out AGAINST it now!
