Well, if you dress out in gym or something and someone will see them, the I would go ahead and switch to boxers or boxer briefs.
If there is no chance anyone would ever see them, then go ahead and wear them.

One advantage of the tighty whities over boxers or boxer/briefs is that it's easier to hide/control unwanted erections. And you'll have plenty of those.
