yay u noticed you have a problem. try the patch or some of that quitting gum. (they may be x-pensive but its for your health)

mistickle17
Yes, Just stop buying it!

Shelty K
Yes! STOP and then visit some of the respiratory wards at the local hospital. Especially those that treat patients for emphysaema. That should help cure your ideas about smoking anything!

DoGS
Just stop...it's not addictive

Try smokers' patches or gum. Or plain old booze!

SelfShal
Just stop. Fill your time doing something else that is legal.

You are you best tool and ur worse enemy. It would take a great commitment from your part n a genuine desire to do it. Chewing in teatree, mint or Lavender tooth picks always help n u can find them in any health food market, or the net.

Read the Bible, it is written, you creator has more power than any one even you, so I'm sure if u manage to ask him for help he'll give it.

There is also this web 4 u. Be well n keep strong, remember you could have bought a car with or more with what you have spent in cigarettes.

I have no idea what whatever your smaoking is but if you try to keep your mind busy you won't even think about it.

Try:
volunteering
enjoying nature
reading
watching tv
playing on computer
write a story
start a collection

And so much more!

Try something else social like drinking Mate' it is a tea that is really healthy for you look it up online....yerba mate' you just need to find a new hobby to get your mind off of it. Stop hanging around the people you get it from or are doing it with.

sounds dumb but ya got to stay away from people who use it for awhile just like any other drug. I moved away from it, to another state and even then i found it, but it was soo awful the quality.... that is what got me to quit...cause i wanted to and it sucked so much and wasn't worth the cost.

Good luck, if you really want to you can do it. Just put it down and dude the money you save is like so totally cool. Also i feel better.

I smoked for about 8 years, every single day, high grade skunk about 5 or more fat joints a day. Used to sell to pals, that's how I could afford it. I stopped about a year ago, mainly due to the fact I moved into a house share with six other people who didn't smoke it. I just got fed up of being quiet and antisocial. I started by only having bedtime spliffs to get to sleep. Two at first, then just the one, later on making the one spliff really skinny, to then just smoking crappy bushweed type stuff, and finally, cigarrettes. A year later, and now I only smoke cigs when I'm out having a drink once or twice a week. I do lots of excersise and eat well and feel happier and more alert which keeps me going. It's not easy pal, but good luck, I guarantee if you make it you won't want to go back

JUST CUT DOWN

Edward
Wacky weed is never a good idea, through the years a person sometimes goes on to something else. Just say NO....please stop... return to a sober life. You'll not believe how really great you feel.

funnyoldworld
It is going to be really hard and you know it.

stop buying it or just say no. It's really not that hard...the hardest bit would be hanging around pot smoking mates and still saying no. But if you do that you got my respect, otherwise if you give in to temptation coz your mates call you a looser for not smoking then that's what you will stay

If you stop now you can reduce your lung damage.Right now your lungs are black and gooey.Lungs do regenerate so the sooner you stop smoking anything the sooner your lungs will recover. You can stop by thinking of those black sticky lungs, and know you dont want to ever have your chest opened and one or both of those lungs removed. They crack your chest open you know.

Get the doctor to order a vitamin B shot, that should help with energy. If you need more help there is Naltrexone, it is a prescription.

Keeping busy and changing your routine will help. Once you start losing weight, which normaly happens after quitting, you will have more drive to stop.

Good luck to you.

Just finish off your last toke and there.

However...you will experience some withdrawl symtoms:

By far the most common symptom of withdrawal is insomnia. This can last from a few nights of practically no sleep at all, up to a few months of occasional sleeplessness. The next most common symptom is depression (that is, if you're not euphoric), and next are nightmares and vivid dreams. Marijuana use tends to dampen the dreaming mechanism, so that when you do get clean the dreams come back with a crash. They can be vivid color, highly emotional dreams or nightmares, even waking up then coming back to the same dream. The very vivid, every-night dreams usually don't start for about a week or so. They last for about a month at most and then taper off. "Using" dreams (dreams involving the use of marijuana) are very common, and although they're not as vivid or emotional as at first, they last for years and are just considered a normal part of recovery.

The fourth most common symptom is anger. This can range from a slow burning rage to constant irritability to sudden bursts of anger when least expected: anger at the world, anger at loved ones, anger at oneself, anger at being an addict and having to get clean. Emotional jags are very common, with emotions bouncing back and forth between depression, anger, and euphoria. Occasionally experienced is a feeling of fear or anxiety, a loss of the sense of humor, decreased sex drive, or increased sex drive. Most all of these symptoms fade to normal emotions by three months. Loss of concentration for the first week or month is also very common and this sometimes affects the ability to learn for a very short while.

Despite the many PC advise and the drop in it's legal status, this is bad stuff....honest. Long term studies show a significant increase in both low grade and serious mental disease in chronic users. I have certainly seen significant numbers of patients who have developed depression and more worrying schizo affective disorders. There is some scanning evidence of physical brain damage and brain shrinkage.

Also don't let anyone tell you it is not addictive! I have dozens of youngsters who just can't get off it.You have taken the biggest step by deciding you wish to stop.

You have been using for so long it is unlikely you will manage on your own. I suggest you see your GP who should refer you to a drugs unit.
