I breakout almost every time I shave, how can I avoid that?

Topsy Kretts	Use something with sacyllic acid in it. You may be confusing pimples with ingrown hairs which are very common in places where people shave. A product with sacyllic acid will decrease the chances of getting ingrown hairs, and also it unclogs pores by dissovling the oils inside the pores, causing the pores to swell a little. shawtyg0tclass	you need to shave one way; im not sure if you do or not, but sometimes when men and women are in a hurry they tend to do a sloppy job & tangle up tiny hairs, resulting in breakouts and rashes. be delicate with your skin, next time when you buy a cream or lotion; ask an expert on what best to use. i promise this will work, just be Gentle and observe. *~Berry Me~*	what ive seen my bf do is he washes his face with warm water after he gets out of the shower and rinses it with cool water, that makes the pores close, he brushes his face in one direction and shaves with professional trimmers in the same direction he brushed, as soon as hes done , he gets some alcohol and rubs it on with some toilet paper then brushes his face again in the same direction , I ve never seen a bump or ingrown hair on his face... shaving creams clog ur pores thats y u get bumps, so ban the creams and gels and do it with some clippers al naturale Was this answer helpful to you? stalker	your skin will grow more resistant every time you kill some cells(not at all like your brain), so every time you shave, the rash will be dimmed, and some day in a far future, it will dissapear, eventualy. Josh D	Start shaving after you shower. It softens the hairs up and makes shaving a breeze. More importantly, make sure you shave from top to bottom (From your chin down to your neck). Dr Stat	sometimes the irritation from shaving alone may not be causing the pbm. The hair follicules may bcome infected and this may require a prophylactic antibiotic regimen to keep this from happening esp if ur under 20yrs old, if not please see a dermatologist to help diagnose the problem Was this answer helpful to you? drjekyllandmrhyde	i guess you could get proactiv, but that's expensive, and it didnt work for me. both my brothers get bad acne when they shave, and it looks gross. i get a few pimples here and there when i shave but theyre not red and they go away. that's cause all my life till a year ago i had acne everywhere on my face. i tried proactiv and it didnt work. so during my physical i told the doctor, and he prescribed two medications, which you should talk to your doctor about. he gave me Erythromycin topical solution usp 2%, which is a liquid in a bottle with its own sponge top, so you tilt it, the sponge gets wet, and you put it on your face. wait a few seconds for it to dry, then take the benzyol peroxide [sp?] 5%, which is a cream, and put a pea sized amount on the left side of your face, neck, and wherever else acne is over there, a pea sized amount all over the right side of your face as well, paying special attention to the affected areas, and a pea sized amount on your forehead. doing this ensures [sp?] that you wont get future acne and it dries out your face so the acne you have is gone in two days [three tops]. in the morning you put the Erythromycin topical solution usp 2%, and then at night before you go to bed you but the Erythromycin topical solution usp 2%, wait for it to dry, and put the benzyol peroxide 5%. it's a prescription, so youre gonna have to see your doctor, but it works, and doesnt take half the time to apply as proactiv, and works better than proactiv. for me, anyway. hope i helped...
