Pain is weakness leaving the body.
Do as many sit-ups as you can in the morning. Don't even count. When you can't do anymore, count 15 more. Get up and act like you ain't done nothin', no matter the pain. Feel that stomach stretch and burn. Go to school, have a nice day, come home, eat something as healthy as possible, watch tv.. when it comes to bed time do 25 more situps. Only 25 unless you can do more, I imagine your stomach will feel pretty bad after what you did in the morning.

When you do situps at home, put your hands behind your ears and your feet under the bottom of a cabinet or chair to secure your body. On each sit up turn to the left or right respectively and touch your elbow (that is sticking out) to your opposite knee. Do as many as you can before you shower. A good regimen and you will have a hard 6 pack in under a year.

do sit ups
and pull from your stomach not your neck and THEN youll get abs instead of neck strain
muscles are built when they are damaged, so to build muscle you have to damage it first- this is were 'no pain no gain' comes in
oh, and eat chicken and eggs- they're are muscle food

Plenty of crunches and proper diet. If all you are looking for is quality abs......you have no need for a gym.....but the overall package is much better. Add some pushups and pullups into your home routine.

these are the WORST answers i have EVER HEARD!
Your abs are the last muscle group to lose fat off of them, in order for a 6 pack to show you need to drop yourself down to about 5% body fat, which is actually pretty unhealthy, believe it or not most people have a well developed 6 pack region, it just isnt showing.
In order to get down to that low in body fat you need to eat VERY CLEAN, no junk food, no sodas, no white bread, fresh veggies, fruit, nuts, and LEAN meat. Drink close to 80oz of water a day, eat 6 times a day...small meals.
Do strength training 3 days a week, pushups, pullups, situps, lunges, things like that since you dont want to go to a gym. Do cardio 3 other days of the week, walking briskly (running/jogging is really bad on your knees and hips). Take one day to completely rest.
Give yourself, id say....10 weeks if you are relatively low in body fat now. Dont like that answer, too bad...this is what you will have to do, welcome to the world of fitness.
You also can't target muscle groups like "just do situps", you have to cut the body fat down for it to matter, especially for that fabled 6 back, although you will need to do some ab exercises to get them bulgin'.
And that "pain" isnt necessarily a good thing, you should only feel pain for a few days after you start exercising, its caused by toxin buildup from not exercising, after a while this will flush out and you shouldnt feel "pain" anymore unless you are injured, drinking LOTS of water helps to cut some of the toxin pain.
BTW, you are 16, worry about maintaining a healthy body, 12% body fat is healthy, and worry about your grades, not the chicas, trust me, by 22 youll be swimming in women regardless of what you look like.

If you mean without work, there is no way to. But if you mean just not driving to a Work Out World or whatever, just eat right until you get skinny (not really skinny, but not to much fat on you) and do a few hundred sit-ups throughout the day. If you do 100 when you wake up, 150 when you get home from school, and another 100-250 before going to bed, you will get a six pack. It will take a few days/weeks but it doesn't take a lot of time per day and is easy. If you want to do it faster, throw in some other exercises. Look for core exercises that athletes do without weights, and that will help. I found Edgerrin James's workout in Sports Illustrated magazine and that works for me (although it is very hard.)

You could just do a lot of situps. Also running a lot works the abdominal muscles really well. You dont need a gym to get in shape. All you need is determination, and the right mindset. Goodluck.

Always, constantly, do isometric exercises with your abs. Squeeze them in, hold for count of 12 (or build up to this, if you need to)---do this all day long, every day---it gets much easier and even becomes natural over time.
Also, when you're sitting (if no one can see you) you can do mini crunches even while sitting in a chair. Build up reps til you can easily do a hundred or so every time you think about it.
