truth seeker	Well buddy, you are mixing religion with masturbating if you think God/god will punish you. I will guess you are Christian (perhaps Muslim). Judeo-Christian religions are the only religions that do not have sexuality as part of their god being. The Bible protests that man was made in the image of God and at the same time made to believe that God is not sexual and by doing so, made to believe that sexuality is somehow wrong or sinful. It is unrealistic to be human without a sexuality, in fact in my line of work (psychology) we would believe something was wrong with a person who did not have a sex drive. I am also going to assume about you that you are relatively young.. and so masturbation is safe and healthy way for you to deal with your sexuality and sexual urges without the risk of disease, pregnancy, or other social consequences. Guilt has been associated with masturbation because there are no other real consequences about it. I would suggest you talk to a trusted adult/older man that you feel comfortable with. Someone that will be honest with you about the subject and about himself. I think you will find that masturbation is incredibly common (as is the initial guilt associated with it if you are Christian, Jewish, or Muslim) and that it is a healthy part of most men's lives. I suspect you will find few guys that have experienced negative consequences associated with masturbation--except maybe the occasional "being caught" story. ;-) Was this answer helpful to you? I am betting if you didn't feel you were being punished for masturbation you would feel you were being punished for something else.
