Cost depends on your location, your insurance, the medical fees involved, etc. Your best bet is to look to your insurance company or a family planning clinic.
As for the technicalities, yes, a man can still get an erection after a vasectomy. All a vasectomy is, is the severing and tying off of the vas deferens. This is the small tube that carries sperm from the testicles to the urethra. (The guy's version of "getting your tubes tied") It does not effect his ability to become aroused or reach orgasm. It simply means that he no longer has sperm in his semen (Although this does take a few months after the actual procedure and is confirmed with a sample test at the doctor's.) Some men have even reported increased sexual activity due to the psychological relief at not worrying about impregnating someone.

YES! A vasectomy will make you shoot blanks basically, same feeling. Bad points are your going to be SORE for a week or so and heavy lifting will be limited.

You an still get erections.
A bad part is that, if you decide to have children, you will not be able to.
I recommend donating your sperm to a sperm bank. That way, if you decide to have children, you still have sperm.

Absolutely. And he will still have an ejaculate - just no sperm in it.
Bad points? Hmmm, you go through a lot of ice packs the day after you have it done.

I am not sure about the cost but yes, the man can still get an erection. There would not be so many men getting them if you were able to have sexual intercourse after you had one. It still functions just the same except for the getting you pregnant part.

yes
a vasectomy will only prevent sperm from exiting the balls
but it will not stop the blood from reaching the penis, which is what causes erections

A vasectomy does not affect a man ability to have sex or to ejaculate. The operation severs the tube that carries the sperm so it can't mix with the ejaculation fluid. To make a woman pregnant, another operation would have to be performed to repair the tube, which may or may not be successful. I have no idea how much the operations costs or if it's covered by insurance.

yes, the erection is caused by blood rushing to nerves, which has nothing to do with what you would lose after a vasectomy.

yes-and semen is not diminished either-only the amount of sperm is halted.
As for the price-well, I they did it with a dull spoon it might cost $450 to $700! -really. unless it's a teaching medical school -I'd check the yellow pages and ask around-more like $1200 sounds more like it-I'm not fixed-so I 'm only guessing but hey-I pay enough doctor's bills for the family and an emergency room visit can be $300 easy without the xrays-test-meds!!!!!!!!!!-good luck

Having a vasectomy does not cause impotence. It just keeps him from ejaculating sperm. You can not tell the difference without a microscope. I don't know of any bad points. I have had one for almost 30 years and everything functions fine. I don't know today's cost, but I think it is more than $700.

I have had a vasectomy since 1982, about a year after my wife and I had our second child. I am pretty sure that I have had at least one erection per day ever since then.
The ONLY difference between before and after is whether or not the seminal fluid (the amount of which does not diminish) contains sperm and can fertilize and egg.
And I know that the procedure was covered by my insurance so it really didn't cost anything besides a copay.
The only bad side is that it is very hard to reverse, so, having any more children should be thought about extensively before having the the very simple and painless operation.
