Absolutely. Whatever your age is, you should behave like it. But it doesn't mean that you should be missing all the fun. It is still fun being 50, I suppose. Well, even if there is no fun in being 50, try to feel a little younger. the most important here is how you feel inside. If you are happy and content at 50, you feel it inside and it will radiate outside. It will have good effect on your skin and on your outlook in life, and you will look younger. Now, if you are 50 and you behave like it but you look younger, isn't it more fun if people come to you and say that you don't look your age?

At your age, you've done all the hard work (house, children, career etc) so why shouldn't you enjoy yourself?
And where is the book that tells us how a 50 year old should behave?

I feel younger at my current age than I did at 40, or even 30. I enjoy my age because I now have the experience I wished I had back then and I am much more confident and independant.
Behave your age, yes. But enjoy it too. You've earned a few perks.

No one DOES behave their age.
absolutely not, especially if its some book dictating how you 'should' be behaving..
just becasue your body is 50, it doesnt mean your mind has to follow.

You should act the the way you feel. I still feel like a teenager at times and just because my body is getting older doesnt mean your mind has to. I think it is a real plus to feel like that, dont change it.

Yes, you should and should be dignified and mature, and a parent or grandparent instead of a "pal" to your children or grandchildren. I've had enough of the kid-adults in America, like the campus rebels who never grew up.
If our generation doesn't lead and isn't a good example, then who will be?

ha ha ha.... best question I've read in ages... obviously you don't or you wouldnt need to ask, when you start acting your age its time to get out the pipe and don those grandaddy slippers with the zips up the front, if your ready to do that then yes you need to start behaving... I doubt somehow you will...lol

Well, I'm 61 and don't feel any different from when I was 30. I've just got more experience and confidence now, so I enjoy life more. I act as I feel and so should you!

Not if you want to live for a long time.
The really old people who I take care of who are healthy are the ones who are care free and refuse to "act their age."
Although, not acting your age doesnt mean neglecting responsibilities (such as family).

Act the age you feel, not the age you are. I'm 60 but I feel about 40, so that's how I act. Most people I've asked say they feel younger than they actually are.
Hope this helps.
