I'd say a fracture, because you don't notice it right away, it drags on, you can't really put the thing in a cast. it takes longer to heal. I would "prefer" the "clean break" of a broken bone.

they are not the same. A fracture is worse because it is an incomplete break and can not be reset. It usually takes longer to heal.

funny enough I had a broken bone .. a wrist to be exact and yes it was painful but not half as bad as a fracture I received to my arm... couldn't believe how painfull... well at least that was my experience.

A fracture and a broken bone are the same thing.
Some breaks are complete, some are not.
A greenstick fracture means the bone splinters like a green twig.
That type is more difficult to deal with.

A broken bone. A fracture means a crack, but not completely broken. Both take time to heal, but generally "breaks" are more serious and problematic.
