I think you should try drinking a little bit more water (even if you already drink alot)....also, try getting up a little slower! It's the blood rushing that is doing this...
maybe also try opening up the windows to get some fresh air when you feel like this....be careful and good luck!

Your blood pressure probably drops. this is called orthostatic blood pressure. You could also have a condition known as cadiogenicsyncope there are also a few other conditions that could be causing this. You need to be seen by a doctor before you actually pass out and hurt yourself

this happens because when you are sitting down, you heart doesnt have to pump blood through your body very fast. when you stand up, not enough blood reaches your head, causing you to see black and feel faint.
to prevent this from happening, stand up slowly, so your heart has time to start pumping harder

You could be anemic. Get a blood test for anemia. Don't worry, if you have anemia, you'd just have to take some iron supplements. Also, you could be stressed. Another reason could be that you don't eat enough.

It maybe be a thing called 'Vertigo' which is often caused by sudden movement or changes in position. This is often caused by something potentionaly wrong in your brain or something with blood presure.
It also may be tension headaches as I had the same problem and I thought it was Vertigo, but it was just tension headaches
So my advice, Go see a doctor. Most people here have no medical training what so ever and this will just get you even more worried.
Low blood pressure and Low iron are factors in your symptoms.. so yeah, just go to a doctor eh?
Good Luck, I'm sure its just something little. :)

It could be low blood pressure but it also could be low iron. You really need to speak with a doctor. It is always good to get professional help.

It's commonly due to a change in blood pressure. It's normal in many cases when rising from a sitting position, but a minute sounds a little long.
Your blood pressure might be abnormally low.

i'm the same way; sometimes i think it is from standing up too fast after you've been sitting down for a while. just try to stand up at a slower pace after you sit down, hopefully it'll help!

Usually if you stand up too fast its just blood rushing to your head. Just make sure you are getting all of your vitamins. Especially iron. If you ever feel like passing out or black out in the shower (which i've had happen), its because your blood sugar is too low. Eat breakfast before going in and you'll be ok. I had a friend who had that problem as well but she found out she has diabetes. I wouldn't worry its that right away. Just try the other things and see what happens.

It's the blood rushing out of your head. If it continues, or you actually do pass out you should see a doctor.

I would highly suggest you see a physician- this is not normal. It could be from low blood pressure, high blood pressure, low blood sugar, high blood sugar. Several other things.

Try not holding your breath when you get up, some people do it out of habit without noticing it, and I think the blackness is a fast blood rush to the head.
Try not getting up so fast.

That happens to me too. It's just blood rushing to your head. Just make sure you have something to hold onto and try to focus on something and your eyes will go back to normal. You don't give a lot of details and I don't think there's a lot of doctors checking Yahoo Answers to practice their medical diagnoses...go to the doctor if you're so concerned.

I think what you are describing is what I experienced once when I was younger. I didn't eat much for breakfast that day, if at all. Perhaps when your stomach is empty (all day?? or just for one meal? not sure) that may happen. Because that is what my parents told me when I told them that "I can't see!!! (when I was getting all dizzy and blacked out vision)"
It was around the afternoon that day, but I don't know how long you ate before that happened. Also, my parents may not know everything, but perhaps that is a possibility you can consider (think about what/when you ate that day you got dizzy/black-vision)
Okay, I hope that this has helped. : )
Also, I cannot tell you for sure whether or not I stood up from somewhere, but I remember I was standing when it happened, but a period of time may have passed already when I last sat down.

your blood pressure is probably dropping when you stand up. there are a couple of disorders that involve blood pressure dropping when you change position, and they aren't usually a big deal, but it's a good thing to get checked out so that, if it is one of those, you can explain to people they don't need to panic if you pass out, or, on the off chance it's something else, it's better to catch it early.

This is called orthostatic hypotension. Low blood pressure from getting up. I have it because it is a side effect of one of the medications I take. The best way to relieve this is too get up slowly. If you are lying down, sit up for a minute before you stand up. If you are sitting, stand up slowly. This is usually in itself nothing to be concerned with but if there are any other symptoms or if you are having a physical soon bring it up with your doc to discuss possible causes.
