Shattered tailbone, and broken back. 3 weeks in the Hospital, 3 months in a mobil body cast (looked kinda like a fiberglass tubetop hahah). Share your destruction with me :D

Mine was real bad too. I'm only 16 but this was when i was 13. I came off my mountain bike while doing jumps and put my arms out - it smashed my right elbow to pieces. It was the worst arm injury the hospital had seen in 10 years. Had to have an elbow reconstruction - loads of wires in there. But it still wasn't back to normal after 3 months physiotherapy and my wrist would not turn neither would my arm stretch out due to the whole mechanism of my elbow being shattered. I've had 2 more operations on it, one was by a specialist on elbows this summer. Had to remove a part of my elbow. Still can't turn my wrist properly though and still don't have full extension. |

not nearly as bad as urs but in June i injured my knee playing beach volleyball... at the time of the injury i knew that i had did something but being the stubborn and competive person that i am, i continued to play until the end of the day(which only made it worse)... i went home that night and iced and elevated my knee(it was pretty swollen) and asumed that the next day i would be fine, well all was not fine as when i got up the next morning i couldnt put hardly ANY weight on my knee and it felt as thought it would give way if i tried to walk on it... also the swelling had INCREASED despite being iced and elevated most of the night... so i limped down to my car and went to the immediate care center where after xrays were taken to assure NO fracture... i was placed in an immobolizer and was told to be non weight bearing for 7 days with a followup visit in ten days.... well when i went back for the followup the doc still didnt like the lack of ROM and continued swelling over the inside of my knee, so i was sent for an MRI... which showed a minor tear to my MCL and although i was still having instability at this time NO damage to any other structures... i was still in the immobilizer and was refered to an orthopeadic dr... he then prescribed PT which i have been in since the beginning of August... I have now had 2 MRIs, 3 cortizone inections, 4 months of therapy, and now the doc is suggesting that we do a scope... "to see if something was missed on the MRI" because i am still having moderate to severe pain with cutting and pivioting, ROM past 100 degrees(weight bearing), 135 degrees (NWB), problems with jumping(cheerleading), and squats, i am also beginning to have instability after riding on the stationary bike, and i get a shrap stabbing pain when ever i twist my foot inwards so again not as bad as the previously posted but it was my WORST injury |
