The Green Bastard	Stick a small pin underneath your nail to separate the skin from the nail. The blood will come out, and it'll hurt a bit, but it will relieve the pressure and make it feel a bit better. Wait a day or so - if the swelling starts to go down, you're OK. surgicalgreens	easiest way to see if your finger broken is just flip the end of your finger using your other finges if it really painful then its a fracture but wait a few days though if injury has just happened as for the blood under finger nail go to hospital and get them to pierce your finger nail to release the pressure of the blood their Was this answer helpful to you? Bren	if it is really hurting then u should get it checked at A&E they may need to puncture the nail to release the blood.or it may be broken. whatever the nail will fall off eventually. my kids have done this in the past and are paranoid about making sure no fingers are in the way before closing doors now. ouch, hope it gets better soon. Gregg C	My mum did that and broke and ruptured a tendon in her finger.. though hers was like drooping to one side I still suggest you have it checked out as there is certainly the chance that getting it stuck in a car door can fracture it. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

The Wizard.	You should get the finger checked in case it's fractured.Anyway the doctor can relieve the pain by putting a hole in the nail, and dressing it.You will lose the nail eventually, but apart from being very sore, you will be alright. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Lisa T	My husband has done this, i feel for you cos he was in pain for ages, under his nail went black, I think this was more of bruising than bleeding. Get it checked at a minor injuries unit if it doesn't feel right, its best to be safe. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Josh	Take a really small drill bit and spin it over the nail making a verry small hole, it might hurt but keep doing it till the blood comes out, once it does it will still hut but not as bad is it would if you hadnt hve done any thing. Take some pain killers like alive or Advil liquid gells those work great. By leting all the blood out it will start to dry out and your nail is less likly to fall off but if you dont think you have it in you to drill a small hole in your nail then just let it be your nail will probly fall of and it will be very tender there so try not to touch it and when washing you hands try not to get very much soap on it( it will burn really bad, wasnt thinking when i did it) Dont worry it will be fine no need to go to a hospital and pay them money just to look at it all they will say is try not to put preasure on it. Gohappy	Ouch! Did you put ice on it for swelling? You don't necessarily have to go to the doctor. There is a chance that your nail could turn purple cuz it sounds like it is bruised. michael p	It will go black and possibly drop off (the nail). Or part of iot might just come away. It will grow back after a couple of months. Theres nothing you can do really. It happened to me when I was at school years ago. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

Chalie M	You will probably lose the nail. Believe it or not straighten out a paper clip heat one end real hot. Just lightly touch it to the nail just in front of the cutical it will melt the nail and relieve the pressure. Do not push just let it melt through. lulu	I had exactly the same, you need to get to A & E asap, you are bleeding under the nail and it will keep building up - you need the hospital to burn a hole through your nail to release the pressure - it dosn't hurt too much (but will hurt more if you leave it) the release will make a big difdference, so grab ur hat and coat............ Michelle Zalbo	There is no need to go to the doctor. The blood under your nail is essentially a bruise. The nail will probably become brittle and rip off in a while, then you grow back a new nail. On the Sleigh (again!)	Heat up a needle and push it through the nail until the blood comes out. Yeah, it hurts, but that's half the fun. Pinky	Go docs, they will probably release the pressure the blood is causing under your nail by puncturing it to let the blood out. It will feel a bit better and the throbbing wont be so bad.
