I woke up with a blood cloth in my leg is it dangerous should i go see a doctor?

Lost in Erehwon	a blood cloth? Do you mean a clot? how do you know that is what you have? Blood clots form in the veins and arteries, so how can you know it is there? Colette P	Of course, you need to see a dr. if it's truly a blood clot. You wouldn't be able to see DVT because that's inside your leg. You probably have a varicose vein that decided to bulge - or did you injure it somehow? I currently have DVT and a torn calf muscle from a skiing accident 2 weeks ago. My dr. sent me for xrays to see if a bone was broken and 'just to be safe' he also ordered an ultrasound on my entire leg - groin to ankle. I thought he was nuts because all I had was pain in my calf. I didn't even have any noticeable bruising until several days later. Well, I do have a clot and it could have killed me. The treatment hasn't been fun. I've had to have 2 shots per day in my stomach (blood thinner) and I'll be on Coumadin (sp?) for 6-9 months. Beats the alternative though. Right now I just wish my muscle would start feeling better. I've learned how to use crutches! Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No

nickname	How do you know? the dangerous kind, deep vein thrombosis can only be detected by ultrasound. Those are potentially life threatening, but treatable. So, you can't diagnose yourself. Was this answer helpful to you? Yes / No
