It might be a foot fracture. Background
The navicular plays an important role in maintaining the medial longitudinal arch of the foot. Commonly, fractures of the navicular are not evident on plain radiographs. This often leads to a delay in diagnosis, which may result in prolonged disabling foot pain in individuals, particularly young athletes. The 4 types of navicular fractures are (1) cortical avulsion, (2) tuberosity, (3) body, and (4) stress. My friend had the same problem and he didn't get it checked for a month. If you can get an x-ray and the doctor will tell you the rest. Good luck.

Don't stop wearing your brace. It won't make it feel better but it is compression. Follow RICE. Rest Ice Compression Elevate. It will not necessarily make it feel better but it will help keep the swelling/inflammation down. I would say yes definitely get on crutches. If you go to the emergency room or a family practitioner they will probably recommend a stirrup brace. They will need to take xrays to make sure there is not a fracture. There are a whole lot of bones in the foot. When I mentioned the stirup braces to my podiatrist he scoffed at them and gave me a lace up brace that offered alot more support. I sprained my ankle when I was 17 and rushed off the crutches and ended up needing surgery 10 years later.(although I waited 9 years to go to a dr.) When you are in pain there is nothing wrong with going to the dr. It is better to be safe now then sorry later.

I think you need to go to the doctor. Sounds like you either broke it or you have some soft tissue damage. Go get some xrays.

Get proper medical help at an emergency center or go and see you doctor. Last time I looked at my doctor he was older than 14 and had no qualifications regards these sorts of things.
