Don't you think it is really fantastic news that a Bionic arm has been given to an?

Amercian lady. This surely must bring hope to many people through out the world who have lost limbs? Though realistically these will only be available to the few, but it must be a major achievement by all concerned in the making of this Bionic arm.

Euphojim	I just read the story and agree this is a real breakthrough and must give hope to amputees across the world. Sadly, I suspect that the high cost of this technology will mean that it is available only to the few who can pay or have excellent insurance schemes.

stalefish_22uk	This is a truely amazing development, although this probably wont be used to treat amputees in general for many years yet i would imagine, as they now have to perfect the technology and educate all the surgeons that would be fitting them, not to mention the production costs which i would imagine to be extremely prohibitive. However this does look very promising for generations to come, I couldnt believe my ears when they said that soon they hope she would be able to feel sensations of hot and cold and even pressure in the future! just goes to show that given time, a hell of a lot of science fiction becomes fact.
