Have lots of herbal Green Tea add honey instead of sugar and drinks lots as many as you can + Have vit C every day.Flu usually takes a week.

their really isn't`t one, i normally chop 3 lemons up, put them in a big jug of boiled water, add 2/3 spoons of sugar, let it go cold then fridge it, just heat a cup before you go to bed, and 2 Paracetamol,it works for me.
and don`t peel the lemons, just wash and chop.

There are true anti-flu drugs, the most well known of which is Relenza. A single treatment unit costs £24.55 basic NHS price, so it is not routinely prescribed. Another cheaper option, if you are in an at risk group is yearly prophylactic vaccine.
If you exclude these 2 options, nothing else affects the duration, and you are left with symptom relief only, which boils down to Paracetamol/Ibuprofen and fluids.
Things that have no effect include :
Vitamins
Echinacea
Honey
Lemons
