Venereal diseases are many in number.
Dont use the medications , thinking that the same medication will hold good for all the diseases. Just take the opinion from a STD specialist before taking the medication.
May be you will be aware of the fact that "penicillins" and "tetracyclines" were one of the most misused drugs few years back and due to that many strains of typhoid and other bacteria developed "resistance" which was a main problem for the clinicians some years back.

That depends on:
1) Which one it is
2) How long the person has had it (in some cases)
3) What/where it is at
4) If the person has drug allergies
5) Patterns of resistance in the geographic area
6) Age of the patient
7) Pregnancy status
8) Some other things that aren't coming to my off the top of my head...
Doxycycline and Azithromycin are both commonly used, along with some 3rd generation cephalosporins. Penicillin is used in some cases as well. There are others, and many combos.
