What happens if I have Strep Throat but do no get a prescription to cure it?
I believe I have Strep Throat, but do not have the resources to see a doctor and get a prescription. What will happen if I just let it "run its course"?

gargle with salt water. the salt will help kill the germs. you can do it with peroxide to , just rinse well. If you do nothing worse case scenario is that the infection eats away at your throat and spreads to your blood stream where you will go septic and die.

strep throat can become very serious if un treated. If you arent sure try bed rest, gargling with salt water and Panadol to reduce the fever, If this doesnt work after 2 days I suggest you get to a doctor as strep can affect vital organs if left untreated

If you do indeed have strep, you may get over it with no problem. The side effects are often cardiac problems later. Drs. have no idea how many cases of future heart damage they have averted by getting antibiotics into someone with a possible strep infection, scarlet fever, etc. If it were me, I'd jump in to see my doc, and take the antibiotics....

You can die from strep go get a antibiotic, a guy from my church died alittle over a year ago and the autopsy revealed it was strep throat. you have to have a throat swab done to confirm it is strep , go to the e.r if you have to. but know, you can't let it run its course that is dangerous!

Strep Throat will not just "run it's course". I tried once and spent a month recovering (very painfully) and have permanent heart valve damage - yes, from strep throat.

You need an antibiotic and the sooner the better.

I used to get strep throat a lot when I was younger ( i'm middle age now) Money has been tight at times, but I always got medical treatment. I felt so bad that I couldn't imagine it would ever 'run it's course'. Antibiotics are cheap. Be it an emergency room, clinic, whatever, please see a doctor immediately! You don't want to feel as bad as I have with strep throat.

no!!!!!
Untreated strep throat can have severe consequences, the worst is heart damage. If you can't afford it, go to your local family clinic and work something out. It isn't that expensive actually considering the potential damage to your internal organs.

I wasn't going to answe this question but the previous answerer is incorrect. While not common, people with untreated Strep have died in the past. You need to treat it propetly with antibiotics. Go to the clinic and for Pete's sake, gargle with warm saltwater.
