Do you have white puss filled pockets in back of throat? Sounds like strep to me. Gargle with warm salt water. Seek medical attention. Although strep CAN go away by itself not treating it can lead to health problems in the future even if it does go away by itself.
Common symptoms of strep throat in children and adults include:
Severe and sudden sore throat without coughing, sneezing, or other coldlike symptoms.
Pain or difficulty with swallowing.
Fever over 101 °F(38.3 °C); lower fevers may indicate a viral infection and not strep.
Swollen lymph nodes in the neck.
White or yellow spots or coating on the throat and tonsils.
Bright red throat or dark red spots on the roof of the mouth at the back near the throat.
Swollen tonsils, although this symptom may also be caused by a viral infection.
Open your mouth and look in the mirror with a flashlight...Look on either side of your uvula(the thing that hangs down the back of your palate) if your throat/tonsils is/are red and swollen and especially if there are white spots you could have strep throat. If your see white spots see a physician. Other symptoms include trouble swallowing and sometimes a clear runny nose and a fever. "Swabbing" or culturing your throat is not always accurate you can have a false positive. Most doctors diagnose on signs and symptoms.
You also could have tonsillitis, cryptic tonsils, or GERD(acid reflux).
I'm sure you have strep throat, I would get to the Dr. They need to get you on an antibiotic, otherwise it won't go away. You're probably tired and don't have any energy.
