If your MT is positive, it is normal in adults as most have been exposed to TB. What is your child's age? How positive is MT? If the child is <4years old , He needs to be put on Inh to prevent TB. If MT is >10mm positive, it is significant at any age, especially if the child does not have a BCG scar. The child should be put on Inh and Rifampicin for 6 months. If MT is 5 to 10mm and the child has a BCG scar, nothing needs to be done,
TB is curable with proper treatment. Do not worry.

A positive mt after exposure to tb is absolutely normal. This does not mean you have or will have tb in the future. Are you and your family members on preventative medicine? If not, you should be. Consult your physician.

DO 2011
TB is an infection of bacteria. These bacteria grow very slowly. The medicines that we use to kill the TB only kill it in the middle of it "growing." So, make sure you take the medicine for as long as they say to, 6-12 months. If you don't, then the infection may continue to grow and spread. The test simply means you were exposed...but be careful, it can be deadly.

Only 3% of people who are infected with TB will develop to become an active patient, your doctor should prescribe you Inh (Isoniazid) therapy for nine months, which will kill the dormant TB organism if taken daily.
Nothing to worry about, just keep up with your doctor…

You all must take the antibiotics recommended by your doctor or nurse everyday for at least 6 months. Sometimes you will have to take three or two drugs a day. Just do it. If you miss very many days or stop taking them you could get worse and even eventually die from TB.

Modern anti-TB treatment can cure virtually all patients. It is, however, very important that treatment be taken for the prescribed duration, which in every case is a minimum of 6 months. Because treatment is of such a long duration and patients feel better after just 1-2 months, and because many TB patients face other problems such as poverty and unemployment, treatment is often interrupted.

Go to a good doctor. In many places there are special hospitals which are specificly for TB patients .

Try to get details in government hospitals, wherever you live.
