This might be nothing but go tho see a doctor as you might have a flutter, which means when the heart starts to go too fast (palpitations). Don't worry they are easy to deal with nower days.

it could be any number of things see a doctor get an EKG perhaps a stress test its probably something minor but any abnormalities you experience pertaining to heart should be taken seriously until cleared by a doctor so make an appointment today and next time it happens pay close attention to your symptoms and stress factors of the day the problem occurs as well as your recent diet or medications you have taken
how long is recently?

If you're serious, then at 14 this is not the right place for a question like this, it could be stress related, on the other hand it could be a medical problem that a doctor or the hospital needs to look at.
Everyone wants to help people on here but without the correct expertise you can do more harm than good.
You're a fourteen year old girl with you're whole life in front of you, you can't take advise on a subject like this from a load of strangers who don't know their head from their elbow.
SEE A DOCTOR please.

I used to have the same thing at your age. My mom told me it had something to do with hormones. If you are very concearned, ask your doctor. If you can't get to the doctor, go and see the school nurse.

What I would do...
First talk to your parents about scheduling you to go see your doctor. Explaing what is happening to you. He may want to do a CBS blood work to check to see if your levels are elevated anywhere.
Another thing I would think is...what is your posture? I had problems like that when I was in class in school and I realized...I am not sitting up right and my torso is not positioned correctly.
OR you may not be breathing right. Some people just don't know how to breathe and keep breathing even when focusing on something in class or work.
Think about it
Stress can also fudge with your breathing. Anxiety and nerves

See your doctor right away. It could be a number of things that is minor, and an asprin will help, but it also could be a number of things that can be very serious. Only a doctor can do the test that will find out why this is happenimg to you. Talk to your mom, and dad.

It's very likely some kind of anxiety attack.
Are you sure there is nothing going on when these happen? If you just start to get these and there's absolutely no reason for them, and they come on with no warning, I would report it to your doctor.
Keep track of when each attack happens, where you were, what you were doing, etc. If they seem to get better or worse, keep track of that too.
Sometimes the excitement of getting this kind of thing will make your yet more anxious, so that a minor attack can become more serious just by the fact that we are paying attention to it.
Simplest solution is to have a small paper bag. When you start to feel short of breath, breath in the paper bag, so that you recirculate the air you breathe. Hold it tight over your mouth and only breathe the air in the paper bag.
You probably are hyperventilating, and this will make you feel a lot better by keeping you from putting too much oxygen into your system and making you feel dizzy.
If things seem to be OK, you're probably fine. The odds of your having some heart defect are very, very small, so it's probably some kind of anxiety reaction. If symptoms keep going, definitely see a doctor. If your doctor tells you not to worry about it and just blows the whole thing off, keep reporting it until someone does take you seriously.

sounds like a panic attack. You are fine. Just try to relax....what is happening is you start to feel it and then you get stressed and then it gets worse. Just realize it will pass and you won't die from it.

Yeah i think maybe you should check just in case but... i dont think you really have a problem. i had something like this before... but my chest felt like it was geting warm and my beat was faster. But i learned that it was all in my imagination... it all stopped after that. i had it checked and it was maybe because my gramps died and he died of a heart attack and i think i was imaging that would kind of happen to me... so it might be your imagination. check it anyway. (if your chest starts to get warmer after you read this that might be proof that after you read this you start feeling that soo it was in your imag.)
Hope you feel better

Could be anxiety. It could also be a medical problem such as an under active Thyroid which can lead to heart palpitations and anxiety. I would let your Dr. know and ask them to test your Thyroid.

You may have ventricular tachacardia, which is a fancy way of saying heart palpitations. Tachacardia simply is a high heart rate...mostly ones that are over 100. This is something you should get seen for. Any time a 14 year old is out of breath, it's an issue. You should be seen immediately if you can.
If you have this condition, there are many options...surgery, medication, or nothing at all. But, you need to be seen to rule out anything serious. My son has this condition, and it was traced to an extra nerve path for his heart's natural pace maker. Unfortunately for him, after mapping his heart, they determined it was too close to his regular pace maker nerve path to be save to remove (a procedure they call ablation). He is on medication, and is doing fine. he's very active and has relatively few episodes now (he is a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is a chief instructor at his school...he's very, very active).
You should tell your parents, and make an appointment to be seen. Could be stress, could be something organic, could be many things. But, we know it's not normal for a healthy 14 year old girl. So, take care and get seen. I'm sure they will find the issue and you'll be able to correct it, or put your mind at ease.
Good luck.
