not always. People have been know to live through a direct shot in the heart. I have known of people to loose half of their brain and still live. death depends on GOD.

Hello Anthony,
If there is no other damage, than that to the Heart the answer is probably not.... The brain will function for about 4 Minutes more on Oxygen Reserves , according to modern Medical Theroy but the Brain will cease to function long before anyone can get the Patient to an ER, onto Life Support.
With Catastrophic Failure as can be found with Irrepairable Damage to the Heart then there is Instantaneus loss of Blood, and Circulation and no way short of a Machine Used in the OR for Circulation can reverse this.
The problem with the use of this machine is that it take too long to hook up the Patient.

It tends to not be a very good thing for your health. But, there are people who've been shot in the heart & lived. Generally, I'd say you're a goner most of the time.
