nicotine is a stimulant which means it can increase your heart rate. It is also a vasoconstrictor which means it constricts your blood vessels which leads to high blood pressure.....there is nothing positive about it or the effects it has on the heart.

well i went to the ER last night for syncope (fainting) and had a full battery of tests run one being an EKG and turns out i have eurythmia or something like that was told it was an irregular heartbeat and the doc told me that my smoking was what caused my syncope so according to the doc yeah it will aggrivate it and is a horrible habit (wish i would have never started) so if you havent started DONT
